Quick. Someone post Ty Detmers stats from college.  That must mean he has a string arm.

Don’t act like you aren’t impressed with 66.8% 3536 yards and a 29/7 TD/Int ratio from the man with a howitzer arm, Cody Kessler

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Dont think Wentz needs an offense to run the ball a lot

He needs an offense that gets him out of the pocket, the ball out of his hands and his WR's in open space. all 3 things the steelers do very well

All true.....but if they dont run the ball the Steelers wont go any farther than they did w/ Ben.

Ok, watch the 2 passes from the 30 second mark...the one pass he ripped from inside the pocket with pinpoint accuracy; the 2nd pass he ripped it while running, off balance for a TD...

Tell me again how Hurts "can't throw".

Small sample, but he doesn't really gun it into small windows like McNabb or Wentz, but he throws a nice deep ball with touch. Safeties can't cheat on his arm. That is not a "Below average" arm unless you consider Brees in his prime to have a below average arm. 30-40 yards in the air with accuracy without wobbling is a nice throw. Now is he going to gun a deep out off balance across his body? Nah.

There's more than enough arm strength, combined with top tier athleticism (he runs in the 4.6 range at 220+ lbs and is elusive, a power RB at QB) to be a NFL QB.

It comes down to the mental part, he has the intangibles, can he master the intricacies of playing pro QB?

Hurts’ relative arm strength becomes less relevant if he’s just going to make one read, tuck the ball and run.  You’d think in Philly of all places it’s been shown that isn’t enough to win enough games to be a contender.

Jalen Hurts has great leg strength. I hope losing Duce isn’t going to hinder his progression.

Guys there’s only one QB that’s going to be able to save the eagles

I don't understand the fascination of fans wanting to see every pass look like a "bullet".  For starters, WR's hate it.  They would much rather have a well timed pass with decent (but not overwhelming) velocity hit their hands...like every time.  Now there are times that a QB needs to "thread the needle" and needs to add some "rip" to it but that doesn't happen on every play.

Both Joe Montana and Tom Brady became two of the best QB's in NFL history by becoming masters of "timing" and getting the ball to where they wanted it to go.  They are the best because they know where the receiver will be and they know how to get the ball in his hands.  Not because they read a route break too late and needed to throw a "cannon" in order to "catch up" to the route/receiver.

The majority of the time you see a QB "hammer it" is because he likely did not get the timing of the route break right (or the receiver didn't)  and saw the receiver open a little late, or threading the needle or during a "broken play"....hence needing to "hammer it" in order to get the ball there on time.  But the majority of well designed plays shouldn't require a QB to "hammer it" if the timing on the play is right.

I agree with most of this.  Hurts' primary area of development should be focused on going through his reads.  He's already demonstrated the ability to get throws to go, where he wants them to go, so that isn't an issue, imo.

Don’t know if this was posted yet. If true it’s gotta be good for Eagles? Right?

If you are quoting a qb’s 40 time, you’ve already lost.  He’s a bad passer.

Definitely not.  You need a building block.  Not an accent piece.  He was a bad pick for them when they made it.  Good player.  But you don’t take a gadget rb that high.  He’s already breaking down.  We need the draft picks.  Not an expensive rb on our depleted team.

Watch out, we agree on something. :P

Yeah......I'd have to say yes to this.
