If they trade Wentz and pick a QB at #6, that is re-creating the problem of drafting Hurts in the 2nd round.

What's not to believe? Howie is the one who drafted Hurts and compared him to Russell Wilson. There are reports from other sources that Wentz is in communication with the coaching staff but is actively ignoring Howie's calls. Even after Hurts beat the Saints, Doug barely praised him and downplayed the win. And in their final PC Doug was emphatic that he wanted to get things back on track for Wentz. Way too much smoke here for there to be no fire.

Again, if there is any truth to this and Jeff Lurie continues to 100% support Howie Roseman, we are truly doomed as a franchise and you really really have to wonder what is with the strange Lurie/Roseman relationship.

I mean you have local sports media and national sports media ripping into Howie, putting stuff out there for all to see what a terrible job and human he is yet Lurie steps up to bat for him every single time.  I just don't get it.

Lurie almost seemed oblivious to it. During his press conference all the blame was on Doug, but he looked a little confused when everyone was asking about Howie. I'm sure he's very well aware but he didn't even hint at any of this being Howie's fault.

There's something terribly wrong if he's oblivious.  Every, single thing can be traced back to Howie.  No one is that oblivious.   At his PC, Lurie defended him at every chance he had.

They just gave him a huge deal.  Howie and Lurie are supposedly Wentz biggest enablers and they coddle him.  Howie has posters or fatheads in his office of Wentz.  These all according to "reports".  Now a month into the last season he's telling Doug to play Hurts more?

I think the Hurts pick was simply insurance.  They believed Wentz was their guy but didnt trust him to stay healthy.  So they spent a high pick on Hurts thinking he could develop and step in if Wentz got injured and maybe in 3-4 years time develop into a pretty good QB.  By that time Wentz's contract is done and maybe they move to Jalen.

Doug barely praised him after the Saints game cuz it was 1 game and he didnt want to throw praise on him so soon, which was smart because Hurts ended up coming back to reality a couple games later.  I think Doug also realizes Wentz is the more talented QB and would rather repair and fix him than start new with Hurts.
