I know a lot of Catholics who'd frown at the thought of being lumped in with Mormons but I know what you mean. We Christians, as a whole, can be a judgy bunch, especially with other denominations.

Well, there is certainly no love lost between the Mormons and Catholics. Of course, the Mormons west of the Mississippi hate the Mormons on the other side.

True story - when Joseph Smith led the Mormons west, they settled in Missouri. Then he had a dream that God said he should have more wives.

His wife, and half the Mormons there, thought that was a bit much. Smith and his polygamist pals went west to Utah. The other Mormons stayed behind, and don't hold with that other nonsense. She kept a lot of his personal effects, and some are on display a the the temple there.

Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin on Friday condemned the decision to indict former President Donald Trump — and said parents in his state "know firsthand” what it’s like to be in Trump’s position.

  It's like all of these guys wants to make 100% sure they never win an election again.

Incitement to armed insurrection is what she is calling for.

Good book about their beginnings and the split off that happened.

New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu(R) expressed utter disbelief that the Republican primary rivals of Donald Trump are not using the 37-count federal indictment against him.

"You’re running against a guy with 37 indictments against him. You almost look like you’re defending him at this point. Those are not–does not look like a serious candidate that’s willing to take him on over the next six months to knock his poll fun numbers down and shoot you to the top. Either you want to run for president and beat the guy or you don’t.”

Yep. They look like huge poosays who want to lose. Why are they even running?

"GOP voters will start to turn on Trump when he's indicted, clearing the way for DeSantis to win the nomination!"

twas a quaint notion...

This is madness. These lunatics should be ashamed of themselves. What Trump did was like what Nixon did just on a far worse scale. Back then the republicans told Nixon to go F himself. Now all they care about is getting views on Fox News and likes on Twitter. They care nothing for the country or the rule of law.

We leave for Disney on Saturday. Can't wait to explain this to my children.

Hopefully the golden corral runs a promotion or something so that they're gone by then. If you haven't been in a while, let me know if you have any questions on the parks or restaurants.

Just tell them the truth. Those lovely white supremacists are there to protect the children.

The responsibility for the complete collapse of the Republican party into a cult of personality/conspiracy can be laid primarily at the feet of spineless GOP leaders who should know better. Donald Trump is an imbecile with no morals or sense of duty. But he can only succeed because he is enabled by those who are smart enough to know better -- Cruz, Rubio, McCarthy, McDaniel, etc. They are smart enough to know how dangerous he is, but they elevate their own political survival over responsibility to the country. In 2016 people like Paul Ryan thought they could control Trump, since they knew he was lazy and would have no interest in doing the actual work of governing. They missed that his narcissism would overwhelm and require him to be front and center. But now the GOP should know better (and frankly many of us knew in 2016).

With few exceptions (Romney, Cheney, etc.), the party is spineless. We need a Barry Goldwater.

They had a shot in 2016 and then again in the impeachment proceedings after the election and they failed on both accounts.
