If the Republican Party had any balls, they would expel Trump as a nominee based on this alone: Trump says he won’t sign RNC loyalty pledge, will share debate plans next week Well for one, the loyalty pledge is BS. There shouldn't be one. But I figure the real reason Trump won't sign it is so he has an excuse to skip the debate.

I would think anyone running for the party's nomination should be required to support that party, regardless of who the nominee is. Seems like an obvious prerequisite. It's only when the nominee is running purely for his/her own personal interests and branding that it could pose an issue.

I suppose I mean: A loyalty pledge shouldn't even be a question. Especially one that is signed in advance of the first debate. It's an extreme position to say party voters messed up and chose a bad candidate. If another candidate reveals that, they do so at their own peril. They should be free to make such a statement, and let the voters decide. But in these bonkers political times... I guess it's all on the table.

This is a bargaining chip for trump. He’ll ask for something in order to sign it, then if the gop gives it to him the signed pledge means nothing to him…

What I'm getting at is, people forget the primaries are designed to be their candidacy for the party's nomination, and the party can (and should) at any time disqualify a candidate at their discretion. If Trump doesn't wish to abide by the party's rules, the party should be telling him to F right off. Right now, Trump needs the Republican Party a lot more than they need him -- he's going to jail unless he gets elected, and he's not getting elected as a third party candidate. The RNC isn't considering that aspect. That's why Trumpism is a creation of the Republican Party, and they should be held accountable for him a generation or more after his death.
August 11, 20232 yr Totally sane, totally Christian. It is obvious that out of Pence and Trump, Trump is the true Christian. WTF are these people drinking? Meth-o-cola?
August 11, 20232 yr Alabama Senator Tommy Tuberville May Not Actually Live There https://www.thedailybeast.com/alabama-sen-tommy-tubervilles-primary-home-may-be-in-florida-report-says Quote Campaign finance documents and property records obtained by the newspaper indicate that his primary home may in actual fact be a $3 million property in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, that he’s lived in for almost 20 years. The recent sale of his parcels in Macon and Tallapoosa counties for $1.1 million was notarized by a Santa Rosa Beach resident, which the Post reported indicated Tuberville was there on July 14. His wife, Suzanne, is a licensed real estate agent in Florida and has worked at a Santa Rosa Beach firm since the beginning of the year; she does not have an Alabama license. In March 2019, according to the Post, just a few months after Tuberville voted in Florida’s midterm elections, he registered to vote in Alabama—a week before announcing his Senate bid. Par for the GOP course.

The weirdest part about this is, why is the right wing media even asking their candidates whether 9/11 was an inside job? It's such an unnecessary question and it speaks to how weird/conspiratorial they all are (and their candidates have to be gain a foothold in the party). Just a complete and total clown party.
