The question of how Trump's vote total went from just shy of 63M in 2016 to 74.2M in 2020 after seeing his horrific term in office is a much more thought provoking question. He actually went from 46.1% of the popular vote to 46.8% in 2020. Trump outperformed is polling by 3-4% in the general election, which I might consider 'somewhat suspicious'

It's even more so now to keep the wannabe dictator, Trump out of office. More then my enthusiasm for Joe.

The amount of Russian disinformation is going to be off the charts. By November 2024, anyone that even remotely leans right will be so lathered up in to a rage about some fake Biden news story, it'll drive turnout for Trump. It's going to be awful. There's going to be more violence. Especially if Trump loses. More people will die.

October 16, 20231 yr Since they already floated electing Trump for speaker, couldn't there be a scenario where democrats and moderate republicans just vote for Liz Cheney. While she's a staunch conservative, she's more reasonable than anyone else the democrats are going to have to deal with, and she'd at least get half of the republican votes winning easily. Is that either too crazy or too sensible? I honestly can't tell.

October 16, 20231 yr Jordan is a truly reprehensible POS. Republicans have to be completely insane to tether themselves to child rape.

Is that either too crazy or too sensible? I honestly can't tell. In my eyes, there's only 3 qualifications normal people should be looking for in a Speaker: 1. Are you against overthrowing the government? This is such a low bar and yet a really difficult bar for a Republican to clear. 2. Are you for keeping the government open? Again, shouldn't be hard but is. 3. Are you for aid to Ukraine? Should be a no-brainer but Republican voters have forced their Reps to go full on support of Russian genocide/murder. Cheney should check all three of those boxes (only one I have any question at all about is number 2). You really couldn't ask for more out of a divided government in this day and age. Dems and any moderate Reps should make a deal and screw over the radical right.

Democrats have zero incentive to enter this shite show and Cheney or any "reasonable" Republican would still be a shite show the second they have to get anything actually done with their party.

Completely disagree. If you can improve the situation by putting someone in there that’ll keep the government open and keep helping Ukraine, you do it. Those are the only 2 priorities. Nothing else is getting done no matter what.

October 17, 20231 yr https://x.com/naretevduorp/status/1714246502137069918?s=20 Quote Today the vast majority of Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives will vote to elect Pro-Russia @Jim_Jordan Speaker of the House. Two heartbeats away from the Presidency. He is a political terrorist deeply involved in the 1/6 Insurrection. If he wore a swastika to Congress today, it might help more Americans understand his purpose, his beliefs, and the threat he poses to our Nation. He has never authored or sponsored legislation during his 16 years in Congress. He voted against certifying the 2020 election and will lead Republicans in doing so again in 2024, should Trump win. He has voted against nearly every bill beneficial to Americans, Veterans, Children, and those less fortunate. He voted against covid vaccines and attacked public servant Anthony Fauci, who remains a target of the Radical Right. He is terror, hate, and vitriol personified. His election is one step closer to the end of America as we know it. The Insurrection is ongoing and today's voting for Speaker is a critical battle in that Cold Civil War. Call (202) 224-3121 and tell the Republicans in the House (from your State) that a vote for Jordan is a vote against Democracy! A vote against America!
October 17, 20231 yr Author Jordan is a traitorous scumbag, but I'd say calling him a not-zee goes rather too far
October 17, 20231 yr And yet the Democrats we elected as an alternative to this madness did nothing but help him get to this position. The idiot AOC posting how it's not her or other Dems' job to protect republicans from themselves while ignoring her job of protecting the country from them is a perfect example. Instead of acting to marginalize the radicals, they've been moving to push them to the forefront because they think they can campaign and fundraise against them. They did it in the last election and in many cases it worked for short term election gains. You can see them trying to apply that same strategy now and they F'd up. Calling Republican house members to tell them Jordan is a threat to democracy is akin to working for his campaign. They already know and it's a selling point. We deserve the disaster we are flirting with. We're a country full of idiots.

October 17, 20231 yr The radicals are in charge. They will never allow the speaker to pass aid for Ukraine or keep the government open. 8 people control it. The rest are scared of Trump and the Trump bots.
