The GOP is now aimed at stopping voting as a way to win.

They could instead, focus on getting their people to vote, but no, preventing voting is how they see their best shot.

At least now I know where KZ's meandering with car keys talking points came from.

Not at all a racist position.

I mean, the white people were all peaceful meanderers.

at this point these sheet stains feel they arent being racist as long as they dont "openly" use the N word.

"At this point"? That's been their position since lynching was made illegal.

Shows the desperation of the GOP that even after being destroyed in this last election, they still view Trump as their savior and their best bet to win. Even flushing their dignity and legacies down the toilet in the process. Still, after everything, trying to keep a hold of that Q Trumpism vote. Truly a dying party. Lindsay was right in 2015 and yes they certainly deserve it.

That will come next, then they'll cry freedom of speech and something about cancel culture.

There's a great deal of support for Tucker for a 2024 run if Trump decides not to. Cruz is hedging his bets.

Edit: Whoops, wrong thread.  But I'll leave it here anyway, because why not.

weird how these people who praised the last administration for saying it like it is, suddenly cries when somebody else tells them, how it is.

I hope the GOP does put forth Tucker for 2024.

Did anyone see John Oliver Sunday? He made Tucker the main focus of his show. I knew the guy was a scumbag but wow.

I'm not usually one of those "ignore it and it'll go away" people, but seeing how we amplified Trump tweets - and Tucker - and how nobodies like Ron Johnson and Marjorie Taylor Greene become household names off of being crap stains - I've reached a point where I mostly ignore them.

Tucker, Ron Johnson and MTG know what they're doing. They say dumb crap,  spark outrage, then the Trump base responds with counter-outrage and circles the wagons around them. We call them dumb, but everything they say into a microphone is planned and intended to serve a purpose. And not to "both sides" this, but their behavior creates an ecosystem that benefits both sides. Left-leaning news makes it a headline. Right-leaning news defends it or swings to what-about-ism. Both sides get clicks and "likes" and "shares".  Same with the political parties. And then the politicians themselves get name recognition, as we're all forced to take a position on someone we didn't even know existed.

After all that ranting, I still don't know the solution. You certainly can't have Ron Johnsons of the world populating our major political parties. So, we can't shrug off his racist nonsense. But do the Tuckers, Johnsons, and MTGs  even spew the nonsense if it's not gonna attract widespread condemnation? I don't know.

Think you might be giving them a bit too much credit when you say they "know what they're doing"...  I totally agree with the reactionary process you describe here, and the media does indeed tend to take each controversy into expected directions and dictate specific levels of outrage/sensationalism.

But I think about the source, and guys like McCarthy traveling to Florida to kiss the ring...  and I just don't see a detailed "plan" coming out of it.  I imagine they are told to basically "protect" Trump, because he's their money maker and their only key to success.  No doubt about it.  But I think that just gives these guys confidence to not care about consequences.  And I think each successive example we see of the illogical, selfish, racist, fascist, and partisan comments by these Trump loyalists are just that: examples of their stupidity without fear of consequences.

And they will continue to lose at the polls because of it.
