So? What has Hurts shown past nothing? He should come in and start until they have a young replacement.

Hurts did a lot better with the same supporting cast than Wentz, and he picked up an entire team. As far as him "showing things"...He was an unprepared rookie who showed a lot of composure when it was necessary. Give him time and at least 1 offseason before you start dumping on the guy.

Please explain how he did better. He won one out of four games, that one being against a gimmick back up quarterback.

The fact is he led to Eagles to points on two of 22 second half possessions, while completing just over 50% of his passes

I'm likely in the minority, but I'm not excited to trade Carson. But it it has to happen, trade him to the AFC. Trade him to the Jaguars for the #1 pick, even if it requires the #6 go with him. But if he's not traded, I won't be upset.

Did Carson show any desire to stay that no one is aware off? I have not heard anything from Carson

Consider the worst supporting cast that made Records ...and you have answered your own question. Hurts, with no offseason, no extensive preparation, did the best he could with what was available.

Crazy stat - nick foles is one of 7 active qbs to win a SB now that brees is done.  6 if you don’t count flacco who is a useless backup.

He isn't a starting QB regardless of how much people want him to be because he doesn't have the arm for it. Take his legs away and he is screwed.  He isn't Wilson. 1 offseason isn't fixing that.

How many off seasons will it take to fix wentz?  Asking for a fired coach

I hope Roseman and the Eagles have learned their lesson. Do not pay these young quarterbacks big money until they absolutely deserve it. Stop coddling these young guys too soon. I believed the Eagles made the right choice back then, but if they chose to trade Wentz for picks, drafted another guy to groom behind Foles, and used those picks to build a roster things might have turned out better.

Arm strength means little if you can’t accurately place the ball. I don’t think his arm strength is as bad as some make it out to be. With that being the case his legs are a part of his game too. Frankly I’m more concerned with the fumbling than how hard he throws the football.

Howie outsmarted himself when he tried to get the cowboys to overpay dak by paying carson before. He wanted to break their bank.  It backfired.

Remember when jalen played that game where they had 7 passes of over 20 yards for like the first time since foles did it back in 2013?  Arm strength is not a problem.  Diehard just has a Boner for gingers.  Don’t pay any attention to him.

Dec 22, 2019: last time Carson had a passer rating over 91.  If anyone’s counting 😂

Is Miles Sanders tweeting this from the return of Foles or is it cause Wentz is gone? 🤔🤔😂😂😂

Foles doesn’t exactly have a cannon either, but he throws one of the best deep balls in the game. I think Hurts deserves his chance to prove what he can do.

Has to be the latter I would think. Had praised jalens leadership and clearly thinks he’s a better fit.

So you don’t want to watch winning football? Because that is all foles has provided philly. Don’t take this is a slight, but were you watching / a fan during his first tenure with the eagles?

Yes I was watching during his first stint. I just don't think he's a fun player to watch. And he's just not very good. Honestly I'm fine with him coming back as a back up but that won't be the case.

Exactly my thoughts.  Love him, always, but if he’s here it’s just another controversy and people would want him to start over jalen.  But then again, if anyone is comfortable being a backup and owning that role, it’s foles.  So I wouldnt be mad about it.

I just don't think it would go very well. Every Hurts mistake and the fans would be crying for Foles. Hell some would even before the year starts. We've been here and done this in the not too distant past.

As if it ever matters who the starter is and who the backup is ... half the fans will always want the other guy.

That's a great great point bud! So very true.

Can’t say I blame him. Hard to support a guy who basically puts all the blame on everyone else but himself. Still is pretty funny how that all happened. 😂🤣😂

I know I’m posting for myself here, but I don’t really care who it is. I just want to win.

You’re not wrong. It would need to be clear who’s the starter and from day 1. I don’t think foles would stir any of it.  He’s be fine in whatever role.  We know that about him.  The fans just need to be told and be ok with the rebuild.

That isn't going to be happening for a little while I'm afraid bud.

Oh absolutely. I don't think Foles would be an issue, I think he would accept the back up role whilst also knowing that Sirianni wants competition at all positions.

3-14 is going to sound really bad compared to 3-13 😂

If we have 2 #1's and don't give up any of our picks we should be able to turn this around in 2021.

Just don't give up anything other than Wentz!!

You are kidding bud? This team isn't turning it around. Not with the current roster, not with Howie making the picks.

I’m about to post out of hope and maybe some experience here. I’ve noticed that most of the Eagles hires at coach have had early success with teams so maybe there’s a chance. If they hit on a few picks especially early in the draft and in a year they’re out from under the Wentz contract. They can sign a free agent or two and you never know. Remember they’re playing in the NFC East too which means they’re always in the playoff hunt. We also have to consider what an offseason with Hurts knowing he’s the guy could mean for his confidence too.

But that's actually a bad thing. This team shouldn't be looking to just make the play offs. Getting to 9-8 or 8-9 or even 10-7 shouldn't be the goal here.
