August 6Aug 6 It's worth noting that the immigration process for a spouse is specifically different, and has been for a very long time, to try and prevent Russian bride type marriages that are shams purely to get someone citizenship. Again, nothing to do with undocumenteds. We're helping my brother-in-law who is also a naturalized citizen, who now wants to marry a girl from "the old country". The policies there are to ensure the relationships are real.

There’s plenty of other BS due in part to illegals(undocumented and overstaying visas) based on what country you are coming from. There isn’t enough workers to process the influx of migrants legal and illegal. Save me the bs bill that was going through until too much sheet got attached to it and then voted down. Never once did I insinuate that I didn’t like Mexicans or any other form of brown people coming in illegally. People on here, being boob, assumed illegals = brown people. It doesn’t to me. Then add in the moron that keeps trying to say these holding cells are totally the same as concentration camps because trumps Hitler and his secret police are notsees, and that’s how you get pages of posts. It’s really pathetic that people try to downplay what happened in actual notsee concentration camps to compare that to what is happening today, in the US. Yea some of this didn’t apply to our conversation but I’m tired of quoting the morons making those comparisons.

It’s the illegals staying too long on a visa, tourist, work, k-1, however they came here legally and then stayed too long and became illegal. Either fake marriages or just came and stayed like the Polish Dr. guy in Chicago. If I remember right he came as a kid and overstayed due to his parents keeping him here with them illegally. People doing that caused tourist visas and esta to be a thing.

If I remember right he came as a kid and overstayed due to his parents keeping him here with them illegally.People doing that caused tourist visas and esta to be a thing. When persons overstay their visa they're referred to CBP and ICE. USCIS's only role is to generate lists of persons who they believe have knowingly overstated. The only time there is additional administrative burden on USCIS is if the overstay of the visa is appealed based on things like financial hardship or marriage to a US citizen. But the cases you're arguing cause burden on USCIS are the ones where persons overstay visas and more or less disappear into the population. At most they will trigger an investigation by ICE to track them down, but would not cause delays in processing immigration cases like marriages to foreign nationals.Again: it's fine to believe we should have stricter immigration controls and enforcement. But blaming undocumented immigrants for more complicated processing of legal immigration is misplaced.Asylum seekers on the other hand do present more of a burden to USCIS, but asylum seekers showing up in numbers didn't start until later in the Obama administration (2014ish).
August 6Aug 6 So the illegal immigrants, who either snuck across the border or overstayed a visa, who by definition are illegal because they haven’t filed the required paperwork or initiated the process to become a legal immigrant… are bogging down the legal immigration process with paperwork they haven’t filed to complete the process they haven’t started… which is why they are "illegal immigrants”?That’s a foxnews take if I ever heard one…

They appeal, they become a uscis issue bogging down the system. This has been happening for decades. People who overstayed their visas and disappeared into the population caused more paperwork, background checks, visas for tourist, checks for ties to their community to see if they are at risk of overstaying their tourist visa. Disappearing into the population also caused more checks into marriages from Eastern Europe, as you stated with Russian mail ordered brides, to see if the marriage is legitimate or if the person is just going to take off. None of these are undocumented. They’re illegals.
