those of you who have gotten the booster, how hard did it hit you compared to the original vaccination?

didn't hit me at all...no side effects other than a sore arm for a couple days.

I was just coming here to post this.  I have mine scheduled for 11 today.

Better than the 2nd dose for me. A little tired and achy starting about 12 hours after and lasting for about another 12

May be a Twitter screenshot of 1 person and text that says 'Nurse Sarah @NurseSarah1990 For the first time in my career, I took care of an 8 year old little boy with myocarditis in the ER. It has begun. 10:08 AM 17 Nov 21. Twitter for iPhone'

I do too.  I did look it up and saw different numbers as well.  Like you said the studies are a little skewed since they are counting the really high numbers in the beginning.  What I read about being mechanically ventilated is crazy.  Are there different types of O2-the rate-and then the criteria to determine if it is helping him or not?  It's a little over my head.  Let alone the risk for further lung injury, loss of muscle mass, and other physical therapy issues he will have if by some miracle he comes out of it.

Yeah they're managing the oxygen percentages, rate of air flow, positioning (prone) and other things much more differently than they did early in the pandemic. Not to mention waiting much later to intubate than they did before. All of which has led to the reduced mortality rates. They're pretty universally protocolized by now which is good.

But yeah the recovery is going to be long when he's extubated unfortunately. Probably will need to be in a rehab nursing facility for awhile.

Stay out of my business!

Mine was about the same as dose 2. Maybe slightly less of an effect. About 12 hours later had a fever and chills. I was fine by the next morning though. Went with moderna for all of them. I assume the side effects were slightly less for the booster because they give a half dose.

I'm hoping to grow an extra P this time, the extra finger I got from the first round is kinda useless.

It never ends. Shout out to Joe Shades and EagleVA. They called it.

There are no fish in a barrel for me. Even in the rare event that I have access to said barrel, I still have to throw a stick of dynamite in there just for an outsid3 chance...

btw, "nurse sarah" above already nuked her own twitter

my ex's name was Sarah too, FWIW. I actually squinted at the avatar, but it ain't her.

Hunt will be fine. The other idiot just checked the wrong box on the form. The anal option is still available.

Not at all.  My second dose of Moderna caused a pretty strong reaction for 24 hours: head and body aches, fever up to 103.  I got the booster 2 weeks ago and had a little soreness at the injection site and nothing else.

One thing I'll say, is that I was pounding bottles of water to stay as hydrated as possible the morning of and throughout the day that I got my booster. I am prone to dehydration headaches so I made sure I did what I could to avoid adding that into the mix. I did the same with my first shots too. Not sure if that helped lessen side effects, but I suppose it's possible. I also didn't do anything too strenuous the following day other than shoot some hoops with the kids for a bit during the afternoon.

I got my booster on Wednesday. I felt like crap yesterday on Thursday. Today I feel fine. So far 100%.

Is anybody mixing shots? My initial doses were Pfizer in the spring, because that's what was first available. My doctor recommended Moderna booster. But the techs administering the shot seemed surprised I asked for the Moderna booster when my vaccine card said Pfizer.

I got a moderna booster after two doses of Pfizer in the spring. Not by choice, just happened to be what they had at they pharmacy I signed up for. Slightly better protection to mix than to stay with all 3 of the same. J&J absolutely should mix though.

Disgusting.
