People in my company think it went though here back in December when a bug went through the building. We had an older engineer with many health issue pass, and some think it was from Coronavirus. We are owned by a Japanese company and have lots of people travel to and from there and had an engineer or two travel too and from China around then also.

That's a big jump and the highest total they have ever had. 1,700 new cases overnight in Florida, we’re on pace to break our own record
June 11, 20205 yr If you stopped caring about the disease you are probably an idiot. If you never cared about the disease you are an idiot.

The trend is crystal clear by now, you can defy it for 2-3 weeks and beat your chest that nothing happened. Then WHAM, it just blows up. Not until early-mid June we are seeing Trump country pay for flaunting since late April - early May. Expect the protester spike some time in July. Shame on the left wing media for downplaying the danger during the protests. I dont blame them for being grateful they finally had somethimg else to put on the front page, but turning a blind eye to the virus spread caused by rioters was pure gaslighting irresponsibility.
June 11, 20205 yr North Carolina also hasn't really said it's ok to reopen. People are just doing it. The republican legislature passed a bill to reopen places like gyms and bars but the democratic governor hasn't signed it. The governor is also trying to go after venues that are reopening in defiance of orders, but I don't know how successful that will be. That entire state is run by the NC republicans. The democratic governor has very little power there. After he was elected, but before he was inaugurated, the legislature passed a lot of laws limiting the powers of the governor. That's how it works down there. The only reason Cooper was even elected governor is because his predecessor was THAT bad.

Yes and No. Look, one of the private sectors that was getting pummeled economically that nobody talked about was media. There was only one f'ing story for 3 straight months. No sports, only a fraction of the primary race, nthing else happening in the world other than COVID. Well guess what, how many reporters and artciles can you write about COVID? How much advertsing were they losing with the economy in shambles and impulse buying at an all time low? Media was hurting bad for a new story and so they rode thre riots hard and wet. It's hard to blame them, it was not a conspiracy, it was just plain old desperation for their own jobs. However, it is extremely fair to ask why they weren't shaming the protesters the same way they were shaming beach goers for spreading the virus?. How many policemen got it and spread it to their families dealing with rioters? How bad are the black neighborhoods in Minnesota and DC going to break out a month from now? And Chicago, FFS, they did such a good job halting the 1st wave and now they are going to blow up for sure becaus of the protests. The left wing media sure has a lot to answer for their silence on that.

You live there, I don't anymore (thank god). So I only go by what I read. If Cooper won't allow places to open for mass gatherings, and he won't sign the bill opening up places where social distancing and masks aren't possible like Bars and Gyms, I'm not sure what he's allowing that's causing the spike. Is it coming from the beaches?
June 11, 20205 yr He can't stop protests because....you know....it's a right. I just don't see the comparison. Are you calling him a hypocrite because he's there?

Is it coming from the beaches? He's allowing places to open at half occupancy. People have been ignoring it though. I think we had a bunch of churches and events that still gathered. It's possible the beaches are a problem. I have a pool and don't live near the beach so don't know lol There's the protests but that's globally and I don't think we'd see the results until sometime next week. Maybe this weekend we'll see a bunch of new cases globally. Unless it's changed isn't the virus supposed to take 2 weeks? I honestly can't remember since we haven't discussed it in awhile. I worry about this spike from the protests. I know we've seen people protesting in masks but still

June 11, 20205 yr I can't imagine there won't be a spike from the protests. It's going to be a rough summer. Just now, Mike030270 said: I think he's calling him a hypocrite. June 11, 20205 yr Masks lessen the risk of infection. Standing with a thousand people probably makes that decrease insignificant.

Protests, weather getting warm and people wanting to be out, businesses opening up again, it's all going to contribute. Some more than others sure but people are still going to point to whatever factor fits their narrative best if we get another big wave.
