Hospitalisations are going up at quite a rate in the UK. That's a concern regarding further restrictions as it has always been about protecting the NHS.

I have a 14 year that I will admit is spoiled, but I routinely tell him nothing is given in life and you must earn everything. He cleans his own bathroom, knows how to do laundry, walks the dog, knows how to use a grill and cook a steak etc. My job as a parent is to build a man that can can thrive when he ultimately leaves. 

It snowed the other day here in VA, instead of sledding he was out shoveling snow to make money so he could upgrade his computer.

Depending on where you live, private schools can be worse. I imagine you'll do your research here, but where I am private schools have ishy out of control entitled kids that ruin the educational experience. 

I say this as friends of ours who are of the "far left but well meaning with too much disposable income" type sent their kids to expensive Quaker type private schools, and they're experiencing WAY more unchecked behavioral issues than the local public schools. Probably because the incentive is there to look the other way when each kid has a fat check attached.

In our new neighborhood, we are easily the poor family.  A few houses over is a family where the mom is a stay at home mom but they also have an au pair. Yeah

 

Reason I bring this up is because a month or two ago I was talking to our next door neighbor about general yardwork.  At one point he said "Yeah, we have someone do our grass but I think the boys are at an age where they can start cutting the grass".

Yeah.  Schmoopies (soon to be former) employer had a lot of terrible teachers.  And that school costs serious $$$$$

Lol. My kid started doing the lawn work at 12. He also voluntarily cuts some of our neighbors lawns when they are on vacation (he remembers when I used to do the same), and refuses payment.

These teachers and administrators are just as burnt out as the health care workers.  Let's hope they stay in their chosen professions or things could be looking pretty bleak for the future generation having good teachers to teach them.

So just so I'm straight - we need to clear the hospitals of the unvaccinated, to make room for who exactly?  We don't think the unvaccinated deserve care, and the vaccinated don't need the hospital.  

I just want to know where the line is for who deserves care and who doesn't in an ishlib's demented, smooth brain.  I know for sure drug addicts are in and unvaccinated are out.  Let's dig in here and see who really fits the criteria.

I was his age and maybe even younger when I started cutting lawns.  When it would snow I would also do elderly neighbors driveways in addition to our own.  I'm in my mid 40s now and am seriously considering helping the ancient neighbor across the street, but that's more me wanting to try out my new snow thrower and\or electric snow shovel.

My wife taught at the Baldwin School for a year and didn’t like it for that reason.

Ed Snider’s daughter was going there at the time so we did get free box seats to a Flyers game.  Only good thing I remember.  Lol

Can't read it - paywall.  I could see that he had cardiac arrest?  We need to know why he had heart problems.  If it was because he ate too much KFC and had clogged arteries, are we sure we wanna waste the bed and resources?

Pretty sure that was debunked as fake news very shortly after it was posted. It was based mostly on unverified information from the dude's family, IIRC, and there were a lot of circumstances that didn't make it as simple as "well, this ICU's full check the hospital down the street!"

Like so much fake news, it's simply accepted as fact by ishlibs and they never get around to reading the retraction or correction, it just gets added to the ishlib lore of fake news stories.

Yeah I was like 9. I actually had a very successful landscaping business from age 14 to 18. I was making like 50 grand a year as a teenager and skiing all winter.
