Of the 3,200 people tested so far at the four popup sites across the metro, 1.8 percent have tested positive for Covid-19, says Ehresmann. HealthPartners, one of the largest health care providers in Minnesota, also reported to the state that it had tested about 8,500 people who indicated that attendance at a mass gathering was the reason they wanted a test. Among them, 0.99 percent tested positive. These numbers have been one of the few pleasant surprises since the outbreak began, says Ehresmann. "Right now, with the data available to us, it appears there was very little transmission at protest events,” she says. "We’re just absolutely relieved.”

In a handful of other US cities that have rolled out free testing for protest-goers, the first round of results look similarly encouraging. In Seattle, fewer than 1 percent of the 3,000 people tested after attending protests were positive for coronavirus, according to a statement put out by the city’s mayor last Friday. This week, Boston officials announced that 14 out of 1,288 people tested so far were positive for coronavirus, or 1.1 percent. Of course, these are only three cities out of hundreds that have been enveloped in large-scale protests against police brutality and institutionalized racism. Many are not conducting widespread public testing, and so signals of protest-related spikes may take longer to emerge. Additionally, the peak of protests in some cities, like New York City, San Francisco, and Washington, DC, arrived several days after actions in Minneapolis, where the response to Floyd’s death was swift and furious.

Also I see no consequences. Is it a fine? What are other cities outside NC doing to enforce masks?

Our local Acme has an armed guard posted at the entrance to make sure people are wearing them

In this study, we observed that IgG levels and neutralizing antibodies in a high proportion of individuals who recovered from SARS-CoV-2 infection start to decrease within 2–3 months after infection.

keep in mind it's only one study. a lot yet to learn.

our giant has one too. I'm pretty sure he's "special".

I went to Giant this morning to pick up some stuff to make dinner tonight.  I got about 15 feet into the store before I realized I forgot to put on my mask

I’m not sure why you seem surprised if you were reading the old board.

People were lined up outside my store this morning and 3 of them were not wearing masks when they came in. The first guy said I have a medical condition then the next guy said oh me too, the 3rd guy said eff you and left lol. I went to Walmart after work and they are not stopping anyone for masks and don't even have signs on the doors saying you need them anymore

Went to a bar to watch the soccer match. All the wait staff had masks and the tables were all spaced out. No bar seats to sit at.

I'm on Fairfax VA

PA doing a great job. Still decreasing cases.
Happy to not be in Lebanon county.  Only county with increasing cases.

What the hell is going on in Lebanon?

Too much bologna sharing?

Probably too much pretending this is a hoax.

There's only 140k or so people living in the county. You almost have to be ignoring all guidance on masks and social distancing and willfully passing this virus to get cases increasing with that kind of population density (about 1/3 the density of any suburban county).

An above average proportion of idiots... Russ Diamond insists that it is all driven by increases in testing.

Whenever numbers go up, it is all about increases in testing, but when numbers are down it's never that we aren't testing enough.

Having many friends in Lebanon, the general sentiment on social media is that this is all about Governor Wolf and his cronies taking aim at Lebanon County for daring to defy his orders. One of my friends on Facebook posted about it yesterday, and I got shouted down by a gaggle of neanderthals for suggesting that they actually look at the data for our county instead of just agreeing that it is a political attack. Basically, when you share numbers with them, their opinion is that all numbers are a hoax (of course, if it all is a hoax, who in their right mind would target Lebanon county as the epicenter of a PA data hoax).

The level with which individuals are choosing to ignore guidance here is truly epic.

Florida broke 4K in a day, will most likely be over 100k total cases by Monday

That spike in Florida is extrenely bad news.  Absolutely nobody has had a spike like that and not come away with a vicious outbreak.  The South has offically exploded with COVID and now gets to celebrate it with the DEATH CULT rally in Tulsa.

And again.

Where is TEW to call out a death cult when you need him???

I thought the heat was supposed to suppress the virus and we would be in lockdown for  winter?

It does.  We just completely gave away every advantage by acting like idiots.

These maniacs out there not wearing masks are really annoying. Stop politicizing masks. They work.
Saw some woman at Home Depot screaming at another woman because of mask.

I’m pretty sure no one is celebrating death there the way Muslims do when they kill people.

I’m here though, you’re just going to have to do better than that.

Statistics support that the president of the United States will passively kill multiple people today.

Since the primary mode of transmission is through airborne transmission to the respiratory track, the heat and UV rays don’t make much a difference.  Summer would have possibly made an impact had there been a significant amount of transmission through touching contaminated surfaces.
