A personal preference

ok

People prefer what's familiar, and for this girl, it seems that wearing a mask indoors is what's most familiar to her, and therefore, most comfortable. When she's wearing a mask, she doesn't even notice it, but when she's not, something feels off to her. Over time, she'd probably get used to the feeling of not covering her face, but right now at least, it feels like something is out of place.

"I don’t want to - it’s so comfortable!” And "It makes me feel safe”.

You are jumping through hoops here to make this sound "normal”. I had to wear a uniform to school everyday for 12 years - I still ripped the damn thing off in favor of more comfortable clothes as soon as I got home. It’s obvious this child is using the mask like a security blanket.

Or sure it’s just so much more comfortable having your breathing restricted and sweating into your mask

What self hating psycho puts mustard on turkey hoagies?

I don't eat turkey hoagies mainly because they're awful (proper Italian with oil+vinegar ftw) but I'd never put mustard on them.

Yellow mustard is bleh. Spicy mustard on a soft pretzel, dijon or "old style" mustard with actual mustard seeds on chicken cordon bleu is good though.

In my old age I'm finding ketchup is so overrated.  I don't like it much at all.  Prefer bbq.  Still like mustard, and not the generic stuff.  The hot stiff.  Eat maybe 4-5- hot dogs a year and always w/ mustard, relish, and onions.

I still love bacon too.  Just paid $10 for a BLT.  I only ate 1/2 will save the other for another time. It was glorious!

The screwed up thing is my brother LOVES mustard. That psycho put it on everything when we were kids - french fries, even cheesesteaks. Still does.

It's pretty sad having a mentally challenged sibling...

You all grew up in Delaware right?  You guys started behind the 8 ball right from the jump.

Mustard on turkey hoagies/sandwiches for me.

This thread is about condiments and where they belong now.

That's because you're much smarter now.

Sensationalist. I have never once felt like my breathing was noticeably restricted in a mask, and it only causes me to sweat if I'm outdoors on a really hot day. But when I'm outdoors, I'm maskless 99% of the time.

fwiw, Every BBQ sauce I've made from scratch has ketchup as its base.

The women's ice hockey team competed and won handily at the Olympics while wearing KN95 masks due to COVID restrictions over there. Didn't seem like they "couldn't breathe."

Now it’s sensationalist to say masks are uncomfortable - the lengths you are going to to defend a poor little girls neuroses

Requiring masks at a gym is sadism.

Yeah but a team also lost in masks.

It's at the very least overstated. Personal opinion, but I really don't find them uncomfortable. They're just...there, but by now they're hardly even noticeable. In fact, I actually find the KN95 to be much more comfortable than cloth masks because it actually leaves space in front of your lips so they're not up against the front of the mask all the time. This little girl might be displaying some form of mild neurosis, but like I said, we actually all exhibit at least a limited degree of neurosis in some form over any variety of things that we're particular about. But it only seems that masks produce a particular kind of disgust in people who aren't wearing them towards those who do.

Ketchup on fries but I only eat the unsweetened kind now

Yes I realize this.  I just don't know what they're putting in it anymore.  It's way too sweet or something.  And I am a tomato freak.

One of the reasons I really don't understand the mask under the nose thing is because, when you pull the mask down like that, it rests tightly on your lips, so you're basically kissing/munching mask the whole time. It would seem more comfortable to me to have the mask up over the nose and have less pressing against your face.

Yeah, I agree that it can be tough in that situation. I guess you just gotta let the gym-goers suck each other's air at their own risk.

Fries? If seasoned well, no condiments are needed.

Fortunately I have a gym setup in my house but I couldn't imagine working out in a mask.

Vinegar + Old Bay. Ketchup is fine on french fries. Sometimes I just prefer them plain + salt. BBQ sauce? Strange, I never thought of it.

You guys remember back in WWI when they sprayed ketchup gas on the enemy soldiers they were trying to kill?

Ya, me neither.

I eat fries with light salt. That's it.

I can eat fries with nothing but salt and often will grab a few without dipping in anything, but I'm kinda big on condiments, so I generally prefer them with the addition of some kind of sweet and/or tangy sauce. Seasoned fries definitely don't need anything, but I really do like some ketchup there since the sweetness goes well with the spices.

I use old bay if I make frozen fries.

I usually make my own though and have a couple different flavors I like to use. Lately I have been making them thick wedges with the skin on, and using a little oil, grated parm cheese, Italian seasoning garlic powder and salt.

I will sometimes dip fries in BBQ sauce if I am out eating ribs or something, it's definitely better than ketchup.
