What A joke of a city, glad I moved out years ago, I guess they no longer follow the science because if they did they could see by the CDC guidance Philadelphia is in the green zone.

And once again -- cloth masks are basically useless against Omicron. So it's all just ridiculous theater now.

No. 7: Philadelphia, Pa.

The City of Brotherly Love doesn't love its brothers so much -- "Travel + Leisure" magazine's survey of tourists and locals for America's Favorite Cities put it dead last in the "Attractive People" category. "Men's Health" ranked it no. 2 in worst teeth. The relatively high number of obese citizens doesn't help matters either.

This is what happens when you have no fear of being voted out of office, thankfully that is very few places, once a truck driver beat the head of the Senate here, it would take 6 million cases a day before murphy reimposed the mask mandate

I'm flying from LA to Philly on 4/24, so the extension of the travel mandate and now the city...thanks jackholes.

Luckily, not staying in Philly.

what ? this is the entire country.

No, New Jersey is great example like I said. If a truck driver can beat the Senate leader then anyone can lose and many did.

This is how stupid these mask lovers are, not one business requires them any more  here but I see some employees still were them but below their nose, even some below the chin, it is hilarious, walking through the malls and seeing many people like this makes me wonder how humanity has not ended yet

wrong. overwhelmingly this country continues to re-elect dirtbags and in the few instances when they don't, more than not they've been replaced with another dirtbag because voters are lazy F's who allow the media to form their opinions. .

True the people that replace them are not any better but even in California there was a recall election.

WHO tracking two emerging omicron sub-variants, BA.4 and BA.5

i agree with you that it's still the right direction to go though. keep voting these scumbags out. if the replacement is no better. vote 'em out too.

BA.2 basically did the same thing here. Took over as the predominant variant but hasn't caused a major spike in cases nationally. Yet it ripped through Denmark and is currently wrecking Shanghai. Vastly different patterns of spread nationally and even regionally (most of the BA.2 uptick is confined to the northeast.)

New York is the main state with big increase in numbers ,everywhere else is up and down but hospitalizations not even close to January

Nonsense, that silly logic could be used to impose endless mandates

Peak of omicron 807,000 daily cases average, today with BA2 almost 100% of cases, average is around 30,000.........get the masks out, should I even mention the hospitalization numbers ?

And what logic is there in waiting for the situation to explode before trying to get a handle on things?

There is zero evidence of any explosion, zero, yes slight uptick in cases that is it, also there is no k95 mandate so no one is getting ahead of anything

Peak hospitilizations, 27,000, today, 2100 and still dropping although it is less of a drop than a week ago OMG!! explosions, bombshells

Agree on the need to push KN95s, but there definitely is some evidence of an impending shitstorm. No problem with erring on the side of caution.
