April 19, 20223 yr I still see people with masks below their nose, I am wondering if these people are so out of touch they think the mask mandate is still in effect, even though in Jersey that was dropped a year ago
April 19, 20223 yr 31 minutes ago, mr_hunt said: that a lot of mumbo jumbo, man. so you think there will be a yearly round of vaccines before "peak season"? In a post-Omicron world, yeah I think it's looking more and more likely you can go get a covid shot with your flu shot every winter. If you're elderly or immunocompromised, maybe even every 6 months. Hard to predict since we're still on the OG vaccine and vaccines 2.0 are just now being tested, but that's my guess of where we're headed.

April 19, 20223 yr 1 hour ago, DBW said: Well guess what, In my solidly blue county and state, nobody is wearing masks in public. So maybe it’s the magamorons that are TeH ScuRrEd and wearing their masks everywhere. I mean you did just say you live in a red county and you see them everywhere. Yeah, totally. usually when I'm passing the mask wearers they yell "this is MAGA country, we respect Fauci around here" so I can tell they're radicalized to the right.

April 19, 20223 yr Just now, mr_hunt said: near colorado springs. Good deal. Enjoy! When I first moved out to Denver my folks came out to visit. We took a trip down there because they wanted to see pikes peak (we took the cog ride up) and afterwards we went to the Cave of the Winds because I saw it on south park that one time. When we came out of the cave, I had about 40 text messages asking what I thought of the trade. I was surprised we got a 2nd for McNabb.

It's actually insane that teams still trade for our QBs.
April 19, 20223 yr I have pretty much turned off all cable news but last night decided to check in and see what all 3 said about the dropping off masks mandates, fox and MSNBC were predictable, but what I saw on CNN's Don lemon show was very interesting, maybe because new CEO but instead of the sky is falling he had a flight attendant on that was happy and a legal guy that just explained the ruling and lemon did not act like it was the end of the world, things may be changing over there. When Bill maher said the masks had to go a month ago lemon was outraged now from the part I saw last night he was very low key

Remote enough you can wake up to an Elk 20 feet from your tent, but still walking distance to a sink and toilet with running water.
April 19, 20223 yr Son had his wedding in Colorado Springs. Did pikes peak and took grandson to Museum and Cliff dwellings, Garden of the Gods. Great visit.

Not really feasible to pack camping stuff on a plane. My cousin lives in Arvada. He got a pop up and goes all over creation camping in the summer. Talking driving up mountains on unimproved roads stuff. We met them at Royal Gorge. I've been to Estes probably 4 times now. I love going into RMNP for a drive and hike. Last year you actually needed to buy passes in advance to just get in. I got on the day they released our dates and managed to snag them before they sold out in an hour. With covid the park was being overrun. Garden of the God's was an absolute crap show. Crazy busy. Wife and I had been there before but we wanted to take the kids. Couldn't even get tickets to take the cog railway up pikes peak.
April 19, 20223 yr On one of our trips we went into Estes for some ice cream came back and there was a bunch of elk blocking the foot bridge over fall river to get to our cabin.

Wife and I had been there before but we wanted to take the kids. Couldn't even get tickets to take the cog railway up pikes peak. Rocky Mountain National Park is one of my most truly treasured parcels of land in this country. It's incredible. Everyone should make a point to get there. I love the hiking and the outdoors in general. My gf goes along with it, but hiking isn't exactly her cup of tea, and I tend to kick her ass on the mountains til the point that she's broken and defeated by the end of the day, lol. I try to balance things, so I sold her on a couples cabin in Estes Park for a few days, when we were there a couple years ago. It was quaint, had a hot tub and everything. She really enjoyed it. We'd like to a do a full week next time around. Haven't been back since July 2020, though. It was pretty busy then, but I think people were still generally limiting travel at the time, so it wasn't entirely overrun and was really the perfect place to be at the time. Sounds like it might be somewhat of a nightmare going now.
