April 27, 20223 yr I’ve watched interviews with Dr Birx on CNN and on Fox the last two days. She has a new book that just came out so she’s on the promotion thingy. Some interesting stuff. The chaos inside the Trump WH, etc. where she destroys Trump and team. Her main overall message is about the need for authorities to be honest and nuanced during pandemics and she literally crushes the CDC for not doing so at any point. She brings up several points of failure in the CDC messaging. One specific item was the complete lack of data in the CDC message regarding the impact of school closures and mask mandates on kids. She said she sent the CDC "all the data” back in the summer of 2020 and advised them to include a section on mental health and social skill development impact in their assessment. They refused. She said the data was all there and understood and they just simply ignored all of it.
