You will notice with the Covid forever people that they were so focused on cases a few weeks ago but now that cases are a fraction of what they were in January suddenly it is hospitalizations and home testing which they ignore was going on then also, when hospitalization do not  go where they expect it then is a big republican conspiracy to hide hospital numbers.

We've been talking about hospitalizations as a better indicator for well over a year dope. Haven't you embarrassed yourself in here enough already?

Facts are not embarrassing, like covid for those who are vaccinated is like the flu, like the numbers I posted in Viriginia and New Jersey showing that you ingnornt fool and you ignoring the harm lockdown caused on kids you dope

Ah yes, ignornt indeed.

As for the lockdowns, those were over two years ago, nobody was locking down kids for delta or omicron. Get a grip, or up your meds before you have a stroke, Mush.

Sorry that does not make it any better for those it harmed, so i guess if you were affected by covid 2 years ago before the vaccine you would say well that was two years ago

Back when there were zero vaccines or treatments and bodies were being loaded up onto freezer trucks on the streets of NYC? Yeah, tell it to their families, you idiot.

Well gee whiz isn't that great if everyone was vaccinated and this thing has no chance of mutating. Guess we can all just move on then.

The facts are that you are not remotely intelligent or educated enough to participate in this conversation meaningfully.  A fact that you make abundantly clear every time you try to chime in with some harebrained Twitter post you absolute Fing dumbbell.

And you're really gonna play the "harming kids" card with me when I literally just brought up an infant in the ICU and 5 separate personal patients of mine missing a parent cause of this?  You sure really want to go down that road simple Jack?

If you say so Eddie, you've only said this like eighteen times in this thread, but I'm sure you really mean it this time! I look forward to how little you care about covid as you continue to post in the thread in the months to come.

What twitter post are you talking about, oh I see because you encounter people with covid problems that means any other problems people had are irrelevant if they didn't come in contact with you, F you a-hole,

Yeah you are a real medical expert, vaccinating everyone would not stop it from mutating since the vaccine does not stop transmission completely, the virus will always be mutating

Losing a Fing parent and intubation is sure as hell a much bigger contributor towards mental health problems then a year of remote schooling you Fing dunce. Not really sure how that could be hard for anyone to understand who graduated kindergarten but here we are...

Severe mental health issues lead to death in various ways including suicide and not just for children, it is not just about remote learning ,good riddance to another fool. I will wait for those twitter posts that I embarrassed myself with

The same 5 circle jerk of people like each others posts all the time in here, I am truly done with this thread, if i post in here again I should be banned

You know what also leads to death? Fing COVID.

Gee I wonder why we're so preoccupied by the single deadliest pandemic to ever hit the US?  A plague that in a 3 year span wiped out about as many Americans as the 1918 flu and WW2 combined. Can't really figure out why we keep talking about it really.

Good.  Let the adults talk.

There's a lot of Monday morning quarterbacking going on with regards to the response to COVID.

People have started to measure the response from 2020 against the severity of Omicron and judging it to be an overreaction.

Go back and look at hospital numbers from 2020 and reassess. Omicron has turned COVID into a disease much closer to influenza than it was, but let's not lose sight of the fact that a million people have died and at times thousands a day were succumbing to this disease.  A disease we were making our best guesses about in the early going.

It's easy to second guess in hindsight.

It makes JoeyBoy big mad that I've continued to advocate masking up throughout the pandemic, particularly during times of increased transmission. Completely level-headed advice that falls right in line with what's been coming from medical experts, but it just kills him that I've been on the right side of this thing the whole time, so he has to call me out by making up ridiculous stories about donning hazmat suits and and fearfully locking myself inside. Since the true story (which this thread accurately paints through my posts) actually makes me look pretty consistently sensible, he has to distort reality to make me look hysterical and distract from his terminal idiocy.

To be fair, there are plenty (I'd say most) "medical experts" who don't advocate masking at this point and haven't for months.  At lease not in any general sense.  That pretty much went out the door with Omicron.

I found the hazmat post pretty funny to be honest.  Actually, I thought you would too.

Cases have been up over last year for the past 2-3 weeks, however deaths have been well below last year the entire time.  In fact deaths have remained flat at around 300/day nationwide despite cases rising daily.  Given that hospitalizations continue to be measured as people hospitalized with Covid, instead of people hospitalized due to Covid, it stands to reason that as cases rise, so will the number of people who are hospitalized for something else but test positive for Covid while there, but deaths remaining flat indicates that this virus has done what every other virus does and become less severe as it evolves. Every death is a tragedy, but we've gotta get back to living our lives. Some posters here will call that reckless, whatever, but me and my family have done what we can to protect ourselves and educate ourselves and have made the decision that's best for us and our family. They're free to do the same for theirs, and I respect whatever they decide.

Unless you mean "medical experts", as in those frauds on social media claiming to have some authority making up their own facts. The ones who are not medical experts at all.

It's getting more transmissible and less severe...and most of us are going to get it eventually. There's no need or reason for mask mandates or lockdowns at this point. People should simply do what they want. Want to wear a mask? Fine, I don't care. If a business wants to require masks? Fine, I can either wear one or frequent a different establishment.

Lockdowns and mandates made sense at the beginning...we were dealing with the unknown. Now? Let people choose for themselves.

Almost 3 years into this and we’re still arguing the same crap

If you're referring to the BA.1 wave, deaths weren't flat at all. If you're referring to this BA.2/BA.2.12.1 wave, then we're too early into it to get an understanding of to what degree deaths will increase. Being that all indications so far paint BA.2 and its sub-lineages as no less pathogenic than BA.1, then I wouldn't expect this to be a cake walk for the unboosted elderly or anyone who's still unvaccinated and happens to catch this.
