VRBPAC mtg isnt until 6/15, but presumably the data is solid enough to finally be approved this time, so FDA, then CDC panel, then CDC approvals should follow in the days after which possibly means shots in arms as soon as 6/20.

Sounds about right from what I'm hearing. Alert made it sound like it's inevitable in the next month or so and to start planning on how to get it out to patients.

Any word yet on when we can start pumping them into unborn fetuses?

No need. If the mother is boosted during pregnancy the microchips are designed to cross the placental border and can start grooming the fetus prenatally.

That sucks man. Hope you guys skate through it. Is it going to affect your plans?

We've been snake bit with getting sick before vacations as of late, but thankfully not covid (yet). Can't tell you how pissed I was that my youngest missed almost 2 days of our Disney trip because some shithead parent thought it was appropriate to send their kid to school with a fever that wiped out half the class. She caught it the day before our trip and it took her 3 days to get back to normal.

Thanks all. Only my wife is really sick so far. Baby and I are fine.

Plans are totally cancelled unfortunately. Was planning on heading up to Montreal. Real salty about it. But at least we're not working.

Ugh, sorry to hear that. Hopefully your wife gets better soon. Any MDs you know that can prescribe pax for her?

Working on it now. She had a pulmonary embolism post delivery.  Not sure that really qualifies her as "high risk" but I think we can use it anyhow.

Yep, right before vacation is exactly how it goes.

Ugh, that stinks!  Hope everyone does well and can re-schedule your vaca.

Sorry to hear man. Paxlovid made me feel better quickly, and I was testing negative in less than a week. Highly recommend.

I'm the last person in my family who hasn't had it. My wife got it (there was a memorial service for a friend, it was a small place, too many people, only three of us in masks. I left after an hour, but she stayed for the whole thing, was sick by Tuesday.

No idea how I managed to avoid it while living in the same house. I slept in the guest room until she stopped testing positive.

Yeah we're on it for my wife. My symptoms are pretty minimal right now. A little tired and with a scratchy throat which is pretty much my baseline since having a kid anyway so probably not necessary for me.

Honestly I'm glad we all got it together. Solo baby duty and guest room isolation both sound miserable.

My doctor didn't think I needed it -- told him this is what I pay him for and to get me the drugs.

We all had it together as well in my home. Unfortunately it was over Christmas lol.

Having F-you money must be so much fun. Well my wife can get it through her OB-med doc so that'll be covered. I have zero risk factors and went on a run yesterday so I'm not gonna push my GP.
