June 25, 20223 yr ...why is there a tool on the internet where you can track how many public craps people have taken? Why is that a thing?

June 25, 20223 yr My turn. Wondering if aspirin, ibuprofen, or paracetamol is best to deal with the fever (low grade around 100 degrees). Who knows? Doesn't seem very clear when I do some searches.

Doesn't seem very clear when I do some searches. Welcome to the **** club. All of em should be relatively similar in treating a mild fever/aches/chills. Aspirin has an added benefit of reducing platelet aggregation which reduces the risk of clotting, so there's some data it has an added benefit for a virus that likes to cause microvascular issues. I'd take aspirin once a day then use either of the others as needed throughout the rest of the day.
June 25, 20223 yr FWIW, I was taking Acetaminophen every 6-8 hours and really couldn't notice an effect. The low grade fever did seem to linger off and on for a bit.
June 25, 20223 yr Unless it's an extreme fever, isn't it better to just suffer it than take something to reduce it? Your body heats up to help fight the infection, it's a natural defensive reaction.
June 27, 20223 yr So I'm just finishing up day 5 since the onset of symptoms. I've now had 48hrs fever free and 24hrs with no cough. I still don't feel 100% but say 90% overall. Just a tiny bit of hoarseness in my voice and just slightly less energy than a normal day. I did test positive again today. I'm wondering how long I can expect it to take until the rapid tests start to turn negative. Was that a 7-10 days type of thing or even longer?

I'm wondering how long I can expect it to take until the rapid tests start to turn negative. Was that a 7-10 days type of thing or even longer? I haven't tested since last Tuesday. At this stage I'm symptom free for around 10 days and 14 days since symptoms first appeared so I should be good. My wife, who developed symptoms on the 16th, finally tested negative on a home test yesterday morning. She had a harder time with it overall but is finally back to normal except for lack of smell, but that's slowly returning now. Apparently it's not uncommon to test positive for weeks or even months after. The antigen tests likely will start showing negative sooner, but PCR tests may be positive much longer. We're traveling in a month and it requires a negative test. They do however allow for a positive PCR test dated 90-11 days before departure along with a certificate of recovery from a doctor, so we're getting that together out of an abundance of caution. Anyway, good luck man. Didn't even see where you'd caught the bug. Glad you seemed to recover quickly.

Quite a few people getting it with light symptoms and fatigue being the main issue for a few days. Who is still requiring a negative test for travel?

June 28, 20223 yr https://americafirstreport.com/why-big-pharma-is-desperate-to-get-covid-jabs-into-babies/ Why Big Pharma Is Desperate to Get Covid Jabs Into Babies by Dr. Joseph Mercola June 28, 2022 The rate of COVID-19 associated hospitalization among children aged 5 to 11 is just 0.0008%. In real-world terms, that’s so close to zero you basically cannot lower it any further. Pfizer’s EUA is for a three-dose regimen (3-microgram shots) for children 6 months to 5 years old; Moderna’s EUA is for a two-dose regimen (25-microgram shots) for children 6 months to 6 years The drug companies need this last remaining age group to be included under the EUA, because once the emergency is finally declared "over,” the next phase of liability shielding requires that the shots receive approval by the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP). Once the vaccine is on the childhood vaccination schedule, the vaccine makers are permanently shielded from liability for injuries and deaths that occur in any age group, including adults
July 1, 20223 yr This latest phase over here is actually new mini wave based on this latest variant. Unvaccinated people are having some issue and there has been some increase in hospitalizations again. Vaccinated people are suffering minor symptoms for 3-4 days (just like me and my wife, daughter has not bee infected yet anyway).
July 7, 20223 yr Small wave continues. All based on the BA.5 sub variant. Seems to be quite contagious. Dozens of people that I know have gotten it. A lingering cough seems to be the worst symptom for everyone after a couple days of low grade fever and zero energy. A quick search shows this variant has now just become the dominant variant in the US. Over here we have seen some masking requirements re-established in a few govt buildings in a couple regions.

Hard to say how much is grass pollen which is now at its normal summer high over here but I think there is some COVID effect still slightly in play.

Symptoms lasted about 3 days. Feel fine now, except lingering fatigue. Wife is a day or two behind me. All should be well. Both of us are fully vaccinated, so I guess that made it easier to overcome.
July 7, 20223 yr The government here just made wearing masks mandatory again when visiting indoor public places. 👎
July 7, 20223 yr Hard to tell which portion on my "lingering fatigue" is COVID and which part is from having a 1 year old.
July 8, 20223 yr I've had positive strep, flu, and COVID tests today. In Fing July. This year is BS... EDIT: in patients. Not myself.
