July 12, 20223 yr Lots of folks I know have it, or just had it, and now I fear I'll probably get it. Have vacation and other things scheduled. One of which is a concert (outdoors). Last time I was sick was in December and I think I might have had it and I just tested too early and never tested myself again. Maybe I won't get it again. Anyway, my co worker, the unvaccinated one who survived being on a ventilator last year, just returned from vacation and is sick. His wife just called to say she is positive so he left to go home and work. I'm not really exposed to him. Yesterday when I was talking with him I was outside of his cube which also has glass on top. Feel bad for all those who have it, and have to cancel and change things all around. Will see what happens. Stay well everyone! Seems this variant isn't messing around.

Unless you're over 50 or have a condition that classifies you as high risk, you couldn't get one even if you wanted one. If you're either of those, you should watch your state's positivity rates and go from there. I didn't have much of a reaction to any of the shots so far, so I'm probably getting my 4th as soon as I'm eligible. If you had a bad reaction to any of them, I can see why you might want to wait a bit until the risk is higher. The only caveat to getting one now, is that it might make you ineligible for the new bivalent candidates (with spike from BA.5) that are targeting a November time-frame.

Understood. We have a rather meaty wave going on here in Europe and are a month ahead of the US with BA5. The people having serious bouts are those that were never vaccinated and had no natural immunity either. Use that info as you see fit.

More contagious than previous variants because of how well it evades immunity. Doesn't seem to be much different from BA.1 in severity of disease.
July 12, 20223 yr Mask mandates starting to pop up here and there. Only in hospitals in Sweden so far but in Finland they are back in a much stricter manner.

July 18, 20223 yr Put another quarter in the "conspiracy theorists were absolutely right" change jar.
July 18, 20223 yr I think my microchip broke loose. I felt something pull in my deltoid and it hurts exactly like it does after you get a shot.

July 20, 20223 yr I, for one, am shocked we aren't at nearly 100% after "weeks". I mean, getting to see a pediatrician on short notice for non emergencies is notoriously easy.
