August 4, 20223 yr A study for from January, so BA.1, but shows that boosters continue to provide decent protection against infection, rather than simply protection against severe disease. https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamanetworkopen/fullarticle/2794864

August 8, 20223 yr If you got the vaccine I'd suggest hooking up with or upgrading to a solid life insurance policy. Just in case

August 9, 20223 yr Quote VERDICT Missing context. Denmark has temporarily paused its COVID-19 vaccination program and not stopped it entirely. It has been paused due to the country’s high vaccine coverage, not because of a study into myocarditis. Sounds like they were correct to pause it. The vaccines have a short shelf life.

Just so we are all clear on what was posted here. https://www.sst.dk/da/corona/Vaccination This is the website - this guy for some unknown reason decided to use Google Translate to translate the page from Danish to English to get this instead of using the actual English version of the website which clearly lays this out better. There have been no new news updates on that website since February. This is what it read -> ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On 15 May 2022, the Danish Health Authority completed the vaccination program for the current season. The Danish Health Authority plans to resume the covid-19 vaccination program for some target groups in the autumn and winter season 2022/23. Read here what the completion of the vaccination program means for you. In Denmark, many Danes have been vaccinated with covid-19 and many have also been infected with covid-19. Therefore, immunity in the population is very high. At the same time, we know from previous experience that viruses have a harder time spreading in the summer. Against this background, the vaccination program against covid-19 has been completed for the current season. Some have the option of being vaccinated, just as the Danish Health Authority continues to recommend vaccination for some groups. You can read more about that below. You can read more about the plans for the autumn vaccination program here Vaccination of children and young people under the age of 18 Children and young people only very rarely become seriously ill from covid-19 with the omikron variant. Therefore, from 1 July 2022 it will no longer be possible for children and young people under the age of 18 to get the 1st jab, and from 1 September 2022 it will no longer be possible to get the 2nd jab. Quite a few children with a particularly increased risk of a serious course will still have the option of vaccination, after an individual assessment by a doctor. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So no this did not just drop. It has been around since May 15th. Actually it started back in February where they said they were scaling down and since Omnicrom did not have the increase in hospitalization, they would shut it down for the Spring and Summer and probably only look at high risk citizens in the fall. They have taken the approach that this is seasonal and will continue to be so. They also said that if things change they will also change accordingly and ramp this back up. But you know, good try KZ. One a side note they also do not vaccinate for the chickenpox in children in case anyone was interested in that.
August 12, 20223 yr CDC has updated its COVID-19 guidance: It streamlines guidance and ends some of the stricter quarantine guidelines for the unvaccinated... Although vaccination is recommended to all 6 months and older. Unvaxxed will not need to quarantine if exposed to the virus and asymptomatic; only when feeling sick or test positive. (Previously this was the guidance only if fully vaxxed.) Everyone exposed should wear a high quality mask (ie. N-95) for 10 days, and test after 5 days from exposure. You are most infectious during the early period of the disease. If Covid+, stay home for 5 days. Then if feeling better, wear a mask until day 10. Re-isolate if symptoms resume. Folks with moderate or severe illness will need to isolate longer. Screening is no longer recommended if asymptomatic with no known exposure. Use common sense to physical distance (consider your risk, community levels, ventilation, etc).

We went to one of those god awful indoor play areas for kids for her birthday party. Last place I wanted to be but she wanted us there. Anyway, my buddy was feeling like garbage and tested himself Sunday morning. He popped a positive. Since then I’ve been feeling progressively worse. Took a test this morning and it came back negative, but I haven’t been sick in over 3 years. So good chances are that I have it. I’ll test again later this week. Hopefully it’s just a common cold. Were you up to date on your boosters? Feel better soon!
