I know there are plenty of admin fees/legal fees/background checks/etc., but how does the breakdown net out to that much money? Wow.

Let's see here...Looking for twins...so that would be two Wayfair cabinets at 15k a piece plus shipping and handling of 15k each. Makes sense.

That doesn't even account for all the money once you actually have to take care of the child. Crazy.

July 15, 20205 yr The school re-opening issue is a tough one. It's one area where I believe the decisions should be made on a state (even local) levels. There are way too many variables for it to be made on a national/federal level, imo. Some of the major issues that should be addressed, imo, are... - The health and safety of the children, first and foremost. - The health and safety of the teachers. (This is where we need data. Data such as local/state infection levels, transmission rates from children to adults, etc etc) If the data can show with overwhelming evidence that say, "There's a better chance that a teacher would die from a school shooting or from a car accident on the way to school, etc etc) then the issue no longer should be focused on the teachers. Teachers should teach in order to educate children and for the betterment of society...similar to the reasons healthcare and front-line workers do what they do. (To help society) There are "assumed risks" with these types of jobs. If the "assumed risk" is no different (or less) than other risks associated with teaching, then it shouldn't be an issue.

This one is more expensive because its out of state, out of agency and it sounds like there might be another referral agency involved as well Now I understand all those lifetime movies about women stealing babies. 1 hour ago, mayanh8 said: Right? Teachers get paid much less than pigs, but most cops are worthless outside of major cities. Now people are whining how we need school since it is basically day care. Thanks to the middle class getting squeezed by conservative policy one person's salary could never be enough to buy a house, car, and support a family. Dealing with parents has to be the worst. I did when I was younger refereeing for different sports and yea the parents are terrible. Teachers certainly aren't overpaid and most good ones have long days during the school year. Compare that to a suburban cop as an example they sit on this fat a all day and write traffic tickets.

I mean, we’ll get the chance to vote in November, but for now the people in charge of the Coronavirus response are the people in charge. And expecting that all of a sudden in July of 2020 that they’re going to adopt a more complex and nuanced view of getting back to normal is naive. It’s not gonna happen. So you aren’t prepared to offer opinion as to whether this issue is cut and dried or not. No problem.

July 15, 20205 yr F’ing yankees The current surge in coronavirus cases across the American South may have been caused by Northerners who traveled South for vacation around Memorial Day, said Dr. Robert Redfield, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. "If you look at the South, everything happened around June 12 to June 16. It all simultaneously kind of popped," he said in an interview Tuesday with Dr. Howard Bauchner of The Journal of the American Medical Association. Independent of state reopening plans, "we're of the view that there was something else that was the driver. Maybe the Memorial Day, not weekend, but the Memorial Day week, where a lot of Northerners decided to go South for vacations."
