Moss seems to have every detail figured out but I think there are a TON of variables. Many are human variables, e.g. can kids keep their masks on, etc. but many are also unknowns in how exactly the virus behaves, spreads, mutates, drives immunity in people. etc. etc. etc.
August 10, 20205 yr as of right now, my kid's school is planning to go back in person. they put a bunch of rules in place involving masks, social distancing, hand washing, etc. and they don't actually start for another 3 weeks so there's a chance they'll switch to distance learning before then. even if they do start off in person, i feel confident that they would switch to distance learning before things got bad...either on their own or as a result of gov. wolf. thankfully, wolf has been very proactive with shut downs...even though he gets a lot of sheet for it.

Oh wow, they didn't ban in-person learning? They're trying to kill teachers and parents. Stay safe, hunt.

Sure but if you then lift the restrictions without a vaccine or herd immunity in play the virus comes back. How fast, how hard, etc. is all unknown at this point. Masks help for sure as does social distancing but these measures are inexact in terms of the science.

I don’t think it’s as unknown as you think. More needs to be learned, but some precautions we could take are common sense.

However, I'd be happy for you to show me the list of multiple long term extensive peer reviewed/approved set of studies that cover all the relevant details related to the COVID-19 virus and how to successfully stop, control, and maintain the spread of it. While you're at it you can point me to the successful implementation, testing, scaled affordable production, and distribution of a worldwide (or if you want we can stick to North Carolina) permanent vaccine that produces no significant side effects.

That the one that Duke was working on? I hadn't heard there was a working vaccine

August 10, 20205 yr "Super-spreader" is a real term for anyone who transmits the disease to a disproportionately high number of secondary contacts. It was also Dave's mother's nickname in college...BAH! (I miss Probably)
