Another 2 cases today at Council Rock North HS.  District has extended the closure of the school through at least Wednesday.  Good grief

Either way it is backwards dangerous logic.

The whole point of a mask is to not spread it, whether you are symptomatic or not.

If I have a group of 100 people and 99 people are wearing a mask and one is not, and that one has COVID what exactly is the mask going to do for the other 99? It is very possible that the one could infect a bunch of those people.

It is a simple message - Care about your fellow American, wear a mask.

Such a concerned father.  Who can't relate to being asked about your child's health and going off on a politicized semantic rant.

Yeah, that too.  Either way, you can really feel the close connection between father and son.

And the report was about the activities of people who got covid vs people who haven't.

The findings that CDC wanted people to take from it were that people who normally wore masks, but went to public places like bars and restaurants and removed their masks, were the ones who ended up getting covid significantly more than mask wearers who did not go to such places.

Mr. Trump should actually read the info he is given before trying to construct a lie from it.

Italy? Corona originally comes from Latin for crown. Though I'm surprised he didn't say "But to me, corona is where Rapunzel came from."

Anecdotal Covid story. A good friend of mine is a staffer for a congressman. Mike Lee give his boss Covid. Apparently Mike Lee has given lots of people Covid. Apparently it’s spreading among members of Congress far more than is being reported.

It’s up world wide.  The Netherlands and other countries are already shutting down for at least a month.  Be ready for Armageddon  in a couple weeks .

Good luck.  Gym equipment has been kinda tough to find/has super long ship times.  At least where I looked.  Peleton took a few months to get here.

Thinking the Same thing!

Does anyone know if the stats for "test given” on this site is truly tests give or is it a number of people tested?  Meaning like if you tested 3x in a week is that counted as one test in this number?  I’m looking at the analytics and thinking 36% of the population could have been tested if it’s just number of people tested but if it’s actual number of tests and people are tested multiple times that means even less of the population has been tested and the positivity rates would be way off as well.

Updated AAP recommendations on return to sports for kids with COVID is a bit terrifying.  14 days until a gradual return to sports for asymptomatic exposure cases due to growing concern for myocarditis.

Quote

To date, limited data are available on COVID-19 and its effects on children and adolescents. We know that those with severe presentations (hypotension, arrhythmias, requiring intubation or extracorporeal membrane oxygenation [ECMO] support, kidney or cardiac failure) or with multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C) must be treated as though they have myocarditis and restricted from exercise and participation for a duration of 3 to 6 months. These athletes must be cleared to resume participation by their primary care physician and appropriate pediatric medical subspecialist, preferably in consultation with a pediatric cardiologist. Cardiac testing (EKG, echocardiogram, 24-hour Holter monitor, exercise stress test, and if warranted, cardiac resonance imaging) must have returned to normal, before return to activity.

Those with moderate symptoms must be asymptomatic for at least 14 days and obtain clearance from their primary care physician before return to exercise and competition. Any individual who has current or a history of positive cardiac symptoms, who has concerning findings on their examination, or who had moderate symptoms of COVID-19, including prolonged fever, should have an EKG performed and potentially be referred to a pediatric cardiologist for further assessment and clearance.

The main question still remains about what to do with others infected with SARS-CoV-2 or who had close contact with an individual with COVID-19. Because of the growing literature about the relationship between COVID-19 and myocarditis, all children and adolescents with exposure to SARS-CoV-2, regardless of symptoms, require a minimum 14-day resting period and must be asymptomatic for >14 days before returning to exercise and/or competition. Because of the limited information on COVID-19 and exercise, the AAP strongly encourages that all patients with COVID-19 be cleared for participation by their primary care physician. The focus of their return to participation screening should be for cardiac symptoms, including but not limited to chest pain, shortness of breath, fatigue, palpitations, or syncope.

I'll have to look into the studies when I get the chance to digest this.  Definitely an extreme measure but myocarditis is a truly terrifying complication so I get not Fing around with it.

Michigan is the same. I'm currently trying to convince the wife to pull our youngest out of preschool. Which is a reversal of a couple months ago when she was more nervous about things.

Just saw 700 new cases at SUNY Oneonta.  The president of the school resigned.

Late with the weekly Swedish report.  No change.  Continued increases in positive cases and in % of positive cases (now back up to 2.9% up from a low of 1.2% about a month ago)  in this 2nd wave BUT still very low numbers overall and nothing happening in the hospitals at this point and deaths are still in the very very low range with no changes.

I've seen a report of one school that had an outbreak but that's it so far.
