October 18, 20205 yr 1st confirmed case in Sweden of a person testing positive, then negative, then positive again months later. Could be a testing snag. The report says there are 23 such known cases in Europe (or was it the World, can't remember). Anyway, the person had very light symptoms the 2nd time around suggesting that her body had developed some amount of built in defense.

Let’s print trillions and let everyone pile on top of each other at protests until the virus disappears.

This would result in economic hardship that also leads to excess mortality. The smart thing is for everyone to wear a f-cking mask if you’re going to be around other people. This allows for the economy to remain relatively stable while still shutting down the spread of the virus.

There’s nothing magic about it, it’s strictly science. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.newyorker.com/science/medical-dispatch/amid-the-coronavirus-crisis-a-regimen-for-reentry/amp "So how effective are surgical masks? A study published in Nature last month shows that, if worn properly and with the right fit, surgical masks are effective at blocking ninety-nine per cent of the respiratory droplets expelled by people with coronaviruses or influenza viruses. The material of a double-layered cotton mask—the kind many people have been making at home—can block droplet emissions as well. And the sars-CoV-2 virus does not last long on cloth; viral counts drop ninety-nine per cent in three hours. Cloth masks aren’t as breathable as surgical masks, though, and that’s important. Surgical masks are made of a melt-blown polypropylene fibre fabric, which, under magnification, looks like cotton candy. Most of the filtration this material provides isn’t from direct blockage but from an electrostatic charge applied to the fibre using a machine called, aptly enough, a corona charger. The static electricity captures viral particles the same way that a blanket in the dryer catches socks. This allows the material to breathe more freely”

In an ideal world, yes, but the people have proved incapable of doing that. I'm not suggesting and indefinite lockdown, but another 6-8 week lockdown is what is needed right now to get things back under control. We need to mitigate the impact of economic hardship. A lot of the population can work from home, but for those who can't and for the small businesses affected, we need to make them the monetary priority instead of the corporations. It's time to bailout the American people and actually give them benefits in return for their tax dollars.
