Yeaaaa sorry not getting pulled into one of your whacky conspiracy theory conversations.   Have a nice day.

This is why we are where we are. Doctors and scientists are all wrong. Wing nuts on YouTube are the real experts. We had a good run, but the idiots procreated much faster, and they’ve won.

There are doctors who disagree, so they can't all be right, or wrong.

Yeah there was the guy that owned the drive through emergent care. His opinion should be considered as valuable as epidemiologists who have been studying these kinds of corona viruses for most of their lives. Good point as always.

Mike Judge didn't intend it to be a documentary, but that's exactly what it's becoming.

so i guess the hoax will end the day after biden wins the election, right ?

So only the doctors who agree with you are right.  We don’t really even need the doctors after all.

When you are on EagleVa’s side on an issue, any issue, you should really reevaluate your position.

It only took one post pointing out the difference between a drive through hack and an epidemiologist to get you go from zero to deranged in under 2 minutes. Beat my own record.

The fact that people can't discern what expertise is, or what makes someone an expert speaks to my overall point about the intelligence level of our society. Let's try this another way...

While these 2 characters have medical degrees, their medical opinions are not equal...

Untested, unproven appeals to authority are still subject to contrary authority, which is why honest people usually avoid them.

Whoo boy. When your reply is lacking, you project your emotional responses onto others. It’s the simpleton way.

Had to stop watching that video after 5 minutes.  He took the % of COVID tests that have been positive and then extrapolated that % to the entire population of the state.   What????? Knew after that there wasn’t any point in listening to whatever else he had to say.  That’s like an intro to statistics rule he just violated and he’s passing himself off as an expert.

My initial post indicated NYC is an outlier because of population density and reliance on mass transit. It's incomparable to other states.

Florida is an example of a highly population dense US state that has fared well considering later lockdown and now relaxation of those measures.

That would indicate lockdowns are neither the most effective nor sustainable. Proper social distancing measures are much more effective.

Got it.

Stick around this time and maybe you'll learn something.

You’re clearly upset, but calling me triggered. Weird.

Probably the worst thing about this is that because of their loyalty to Trump, people want so badly to believe that scientists and doctors who are actual experts are all lying as part of some vast conspiracy to force people to wear masks and stay in their homes. As if this was the end goal in and of itself.

No way, you're doing awesome. Keep going

My only request is that you watch whatever that conspiracy video is and give me the reader's digest version of why all these supposed experts, even the ones hired by the president you love, are all in on this.

Early data shows 66% of new NY hospitalizations wha are largely sheltering at home. Another 18% from nursing homes.

Continued lockdown effectiveness continues to not be supported by data.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cnbc.com/amp/2020/05/06/ny-gov-cuomo-says-its-shocking-most-new-coronavirus-hospitalizations-are-people-staying-home.html

Pretty large leap in logic.

First of all in NYC the people staying at home are the vast majority of the city so it's not really all that surprising they're the largest percentage. If there was an outbreak at a Dave Matthews concert most of the victims would have pooka shell necklaces and no girlfriend, doesn't mean those are predisposing/related factors. Second of all these people aren't shut in completely, they're "largely" staying at home.  So yeah you could say this means that people are going to get it no matter what, or you could just as easily say that we still have these infections even with brief exposure walking around a place as crowded as NYC and reopening could make it a Fton worse. If this is anything like the 1918 flu it's the latter.
