December 9, 20204 yr A year from now not enough people will have received the vaccine unless it is made mandatory. Just be prepared though that when this pandemic is over and it will be some day, the media now has something to keep people watching, talk of the next possible pandemic will be an almost nightly thing

Eh not entirely. Even the best vaccines aren't typically 100% preventative so we rely on herd immunity for most communicable diseases as well. Also immunocompromised people and other populations can't get a lot of vaccines so they fully rely on herd immunity. You also have kids who have stupid parents that refuse to get them vaccinated. So yes these morons are still going to impact others with their BS and they deserve every bit of shaming and mockery they get.
December 9, 20204 yr It's pretty simple... A) Always wear a mask in public B) Get the vaccine Ideally we want people to do both as that will be the fastest way to end this nightmare, but at this point I'll take even just 1 out of the 2. But if you choose to do neither, you're a miserable steaming pile of ish and you can go F yourself.

So no distancing required, don't bother washing your hands, go right ahead and touch your face, and by all means due gather in large groups.

Subtext of option A, but the context of the conversation, stemming from hunt's post, was a distinction between masks vs vaccine.

Ok, so from now on when you or Hunt say "mask" I'll understand that to mean a package of measures designed to thwart COVID spreading.

To me, it's pretty clear and stated right in his post, I'm not sure what you're even referring to here... 34 minutes ago, mr_hunt said: tru dat. unlike with mask wearing, their decision to ignore science & medical professionals' advice only impacts themselves when it comes to the vaccine. if they don't want it, oh well. He's directly comparing mask wearing vs the vaccine. I'm simply saying, as long as people choose to do at least one of those things and follow through with that choice, we'll be in decent shape. Washing hands and distancing are kind of implicit at this point, no? Unless you've seen hordes of anti-hand-washers crying about tyranny of being forced to live with pruny palms or something? Not sure what your point is otherwise.

December 9, 20204 yr you can argue a meaningless point if you want....but my post was making the distinction between mask wearing putting others at risk (mostly) and refusal to take the vaccine putting yourself at risk (mostly). really wasn't any more complicated than that. in conclusion,

I forget what medicine they put him on but it cleared up in a week or two if I remember correctly. I got lyme's disease two years ago. Had a 103-104 fever for 4 days, finally went to the doc. Sure enough blood work comes back that it was early lyme's. Finally getting dosed and feel good enough to head back to work. On the drive to work half my face stopped working. It Fing sucked. Then I was on steroids for that, too. Only lasted a couple days but it was like trying to drink while novacained up all friggen day!

December 10, 20204 yr It took 10 days for a Reno hospital to turn a parking garage into a wing for Covid patients. Now it has 700 beds https://www.cnn.com/2020/12/10/us/reno-hospital-covid-parking-garage/index.html By all means, keep going out, don't wear a mask, keep spreading the disease. America has LOTS of parking lots.

December 10, 20204 yr So I tested positive Dec 1st. I’m fine, but I was never contacted for any tracing info. I even called PA Health number to get ahead of it. Chose option 2 and discussed situation with rep. Was told to call again, but choose option 1. Did that and rep took name phone and dob. Later received call, but all they did was inform me of quarantine guidelines. Asked about tracing and told her I had pa COVID app on my cell and I should be issued a 6 digit number to register my results with app. She had nothing to do with tracing and said should I be contacted to give as much info as possible. On Monday still nothing so went to PA health website and left detailed message of my movements and lack of contact tracing. Did Walgreens not report test ? Is tracing system overwhelmed ? Think you could voluntarily report contact tracing, but I guess not.
