Huh?

The CDC Director went on national TV and said those that died after testing positive for COVID AFTER getting vaccinated, did not actually die FROM COVID, just WITH COVID.

Like those morbidly obese, hypertensive, ancient elders that have perished during COVID, you know, prior to vaccines.

Yeaaaaa no.  Again, if what you’re saying was true, and that the Covid deaths were inflated, then we wouldn’t have seen the excess mortality data be significantly above the covid death count.

Loss of jobs, loss of income, lack of available (seemingly or otherwise) health care, etc.?

This was so very much more than just a virus and a disease. This was culture-shifting. And a lot of it was and continues to be overwhelming and significantly more overbearing than it ever needed to be.

We've got CNN catfished and admitting they way overplayed their hands on doom and gloom. We've got the CDC director changing the way to explain losses to better suit the pro-vaccine angle.

I think you underestimate the effects of stress. And the excess workload that has been placed on people remaining in a workforce that is understaffed virtually everywhere. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.forbes.com/sites/robertglatter/2021/05/18/working-55-hours-a-week-linked-to-early-death-who-study-finds/amp/

So no research into the people actually doing it, who have been available on Youtube. Meanwhile, every major story from the left in the MSM has been proven fake, like RussiaGate, BountyGate, Matt Gaetz "scandal", and more.

I get you want to keep the smart finance persona, which is fine, but we are living in a country in a time in which there is no regard for the truth. To the point of having to actually find the people actually involved in hearing what they themselves say. Not some bunk from Business Insider.

Them being GOP means nothing. They are the ones at issue here.

Jeebus, you’re in deep

Do you understand how death certificates are filled out?   None of what you said explains the numbers.  Again, if the covid death totals were inflated, then we wouldn’t have seen an excess mortality figure that significantly exceeds the covid death total.

All you anti-maskers &anti-vaxxers should all get together and spread the virus amongst yourselves. That way we can reach herd immunity and also improve the species.

Cancer deaths are up.

Heart disease deaths are up.

Traffic fatalities are up (in Ohio, I'm guessing nationwide as well. I can post links to OSHP again if you'd like).

Suicides are up (in Ohio, again guessing nationwide as well. I've already posted links in this thread).

Gun violence deaths are up SIGNIFICANTLY (in Ohio and I also read in another thread specifically about NYC and Chicago as well. I can post links if you need).

There is a lot more to explain the EFFECTS of COVID and COVID response, than just the DISEASE of COVID. Which really only effects, on a statistically significant level, those that are OBESE, HYPERTENSIVE, AND ADVANCED ELDERLY.

Oh, and I 100% guarantee that the stress of the political battles are affecting health and death. We are so polarized anymore, you have Democrats and Republicans who literally HATE each other. I mean, look at this thread alone. Kz and Mack would NEVER post a pro-liberal article, and you all would NEVER admit when a pro-Conservative viewpoint is right. You're ALL dug in so deep to your respective edges of the spectrum, that its hard for anyone to have a progressive conversation in which things get worked out in the middle. This election was the most angry, divisive election I've ever seen. And I was alive for a black man getting elected in the ol' waysis USA. There's so much anger in the world.

Go ahead and explain COVID in relation to traffic fatalities, cancer deaths, suicides and gun deaths. I'll wait.

Im not even sure what point you are trying to prove with your ramblings now.

Then I can stop worrying about them killing old people, etc. through their pathetic negligence.

Last time he talked about a giant leap in Ohio of teen suicides I believe it ended up being in the single digits. I also genuinely have no idea why traffic deaths would be up significantly in a time when more people worked from home so not sure how in earth that would be relevant.

I think it's perfectly fair to say that there was a bump in deaths from things like ignoring chronic disease management during the crisis. The flip side of that however is we had a dramatic dip in flu cases/deaths too. Anyone who thinks that math adds up to anything close to the 100s of thousands of excess deaths reported has zero idea what they're talking about.

So an extra ~3k deaths. Only 497k more to be explained! Man, when they put together a hoax, they put together a really good one!

that's bizarrely counter-intuitive.

edit: I mean how traffic deaths would increase in a year where total miles driven is significantly reduced.

They are, and they have. Do you think they followed any quarantine/social distancing guidelines this whole time either? It's like the old Denis Leary joke, about putting Motley Crue in a room with a ton of crack: They're still here, man! They'll probably create another cable news channel. Or country music awards show. Damn!

Yes, on the surface it would seem that less people on the road, less miles driven would lead to less deaths.  Unfortunately, an unintended consequence of having less people on the road is that people drive faster and attempt more riskier driving maneuvers.  Was reading that speeding tickets were significantly up as well in 2020.

Miles driven was only down 13%. I would've expected a bigger drop. In any case, it's probably all the trumpbots not wearing a seatbelt because muh freedumz.

Speeding tickets can also be about levels of enforcement. With tax revenue down so much I would bet that police departments were leaned on to try and make up the shortfalls with ticket revenue.

I would have as well, but even so that's a significant increase in deaths per miles driven.

It's not just based on tickets though.  Mobility tracking data has also shown that speeding is up.   People will drive as fast as they feel comfortable doing.  When there's more space on the highway to operate, people drive faster.  When there's more cars on the road, people will drive slower as you don't have as much space between you and the cars around you.

It's why when we are designing roadways, we aim to provide a roadway environment that matches the design speed/speed limit.  e.g. if we're putting in a new roadway in a suburban neighborhood with heavy pedestrian traffic and pedestrian crossings at intersections, then don't design a roadway with 12' lanes and 10' wide shoulders, because when you put that 35 mph speed limit sign out there, people are going to ignore it and go 45+ because they feel they have the space to do so.

Fear makes people do stupid things.

2020 was a year of worry.

Damn that's crazy. I guess it's harder to die in bumper to bumper traffic?

But yeah ultimately just a drop in the bucket. Meanwhile here's the flu:

https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/flu-has-disappeared-worldwide-during-the-covid-pandemic1/

"The U.S. saw about 600 deaths from influenza during the 2020–2021 flu season. In comparison, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimated there were roughly 22,000 deaths in the prior season and 34,000 two seasons ago."

Just such a wildly ignorant stance to take. Bordering on "vaccines cause autism" territory at this point.

I have no doubts he also believes they cause autism.

You SERIOUSLY believe the flu was completely eradicated??????????????  By, what, masks?!?  And the only people who died were anti-maskers, right?

No, it's because deaths where they don't test for flu but attribute it based on SYMPTOMS (like fever... cough... sore throat... fatigue... headaches... ) were INSTEAD attributed to COVID.

You are being INTENTIONALLY dense.  Do you really think every single person that died of the flu in years past was administered a flu test???    Hell, California specifically doesn't test for flu in people over the age of 65.  I WONDER WHY???????????
