If you think drug reps are giving out tropical vacations at a pediatricians office you know even less about this than I thought. I'd be lucky to get score greyhound tickets to Gary Indiana.

While it still happens, the heyday of that is long gone.  It was mostly replaced with advertising directly to customer, hence the commercials with the wall of text warnings and side effects.

Yep I remember shadowing people in highschool and seeing all sorts of rep meetings, but now not so much. Even back then though I doubt they'd have been clamouring for the private pediatrician group with 50% medicaid patients. My office's "no rep" policy is kinda like a fat guy sitting on the couch saying he wouldn't date the supermodel actress cause of something she said. It's a great sentiment and all but Brie Larson wasn't ever going to F you either way fatso.

I'm sure the parents of kids with seizures will tell you differently, but sounds like you already know that.

Or the families of cancer patients who see them getting past the nausea of chemo with it.

Texas governor tweeted this chart as if it was his own personal scorecard. People’s lives are on that chart. Using it as a "winning” statement/argument is the most on point trump Republican tactic ever. Just sickened with the lack of human empathy on the right.

Morality rate instead of Mortality rate is a pretty ironic typo

I don't understand the whole gym spazzing out thing. Can't they just for the time being exercise in their house or something?

Don't be mad red states are responding better to the crisis than blue states. It's a bad look.

I get it.  I don't have weights or any cardio equipment at home right now. Only recently turned warm enough to run outside up here and it'll be a month plus before I'd swim.  Youtube workout videos can only get you so far.  I still think people freaking out about it is Fing moronic but I at least get it more than bishing about a haircut.

You need mirrors to work out?

You can walk around your kitchen table or something

If you have stairs then go up and down them

You can do situps and pushups at home

I definitely need a haircut and only trust a barber so mines growing out for now. It's a lot longer than I like but not the longest I've ever grown my hair out

Yeah I mean I'm doing what I can but I see why it sucks for people if you don't have home equipment. Powerlifters, people who swim etc are kinda just stuck doing meh exercises. But again, people freaking out about it are dumb even if I see where it's coming from.

did you guys see the trump supporters in west virgina protesting that the government open up the libraries?  they staged a read-in outside the front doors. there was quite a turnout.

I'm totally with you on this. But I'd rather invest in a set of weights or a treadmill, than purchase a gym membership type of guy. Although I was in my best shape when I worked out at a gym. So they might be onto something...

I started doing what I mentioned because since the quarantine I've gained weight lol

I still need to start eating healthy. That part is really difficult lol

You almost had me but then I remembered one of you anti-trumpers(likely you lol) mention how they aren't protesting libraries. Good one lol

Your first link is mainly about the government setting prices, which really isn't what our conversation is about.  It only secondarily even touches on the role of government intervention into propping up businesses/individuals.  Here's all it says:

Quote

Firms may also temporarily shutter their doors and send their workers into the labor force as potential temporary employees in areas that need them to produce vital necessities. (Instead, the government approach has been to propose bailouts and universal income checks while in some cases mandating the clear waste of resources.)

I mean, that's a pretty limited view of what to do with the 40 million + people that are currently unemployed or furloughed.  There aren't enough businesses that were essential enough to stay open to employ anywhere near all the people that were without work.  Furthermore, none of this takes into account the public health aspect to all of this, which is of course, the main problem here.  The more people that are out in the world, the less control we had over stopping the spread of the virus, which is why direct money from the government is the only thing that made any sense.

Now, with things opening up to a degree, that calculous changes.  But we're still not where this article supposes we are, because, again, we're still dealing with a public health crisis and some businesses aren't going to be able to open up, meaning a lot of people aren't going to be able to work, even with increased demand in certain sectors.  Like I said, these free market principals just don't provide solutions when what's holding our economy down is a deadly virus spread by human contact.

Don't have time to read the second link right now, but I'll try later on.

Get a Peloton. Been a lifesaver. I hate working out around people as well, so do the Peloton 6 days a week.

We just ordered one. Fing expensive but everyone gushes about theirs. 0% APR makes it feel less dirty too.
