May 19, 20205 yr The situation here in the UK is I suppose levelling off a little but it's still a really dire situation. And schools are to return on June 1st. My eldest is apparently going back to nursery on the 1st according to my ex and I'm not sure how I feel about that... What are your thoughts guys?

Get ready for a lot more cases and a lot more deaths.

Don't see much of a point to returning for a few weeks at most. I mean, good for the seniors in high school/college I suppose.

Not only are schools the perfect petri dish, from my own experience, your children are awesome giving it to you.

There are also zero left wing AM radio shows that scream like conservatives do. The closest thing to a left wing Glenn Beck would be...Howard Stern? You even see it less amplified on CNN v Fox. CNN has just as much outrage, but decidedly less red faced anger tantrums. This is a major behavioral divide on a pretty mass scale we are talking about. Howard is independent even though his tastes have changed over the years. He loves gun rights and freedom of speech. He likes Bernie because he stuck up for him with the FCC but hates his politics. He loves trump as a guest but hates his politics. He's an independent.

Yeah I mean i don't know what US schools are like but July is a complete write off in the UK. 23 minutes ago, Toastrel said: Not only are schools the perfect petri dish, from my own experience, your children are awesome giving it to you. Yeah they are. I don't tend to catch it from my little one but my mum and girlfriend do all the time. Mind you I think I heard that there's no cases of a child passing the disease on to an adult?
May 19, 20205 yr The closest thing the right has to a "comedian" is Dennis Miller. I tried watching him last night and he's very light on the comedy and very heavy on the stupidity.

There's talk here of not going back in Sept. That may change though. What is the normal school year in the UK? Or is nursery more like day care? Day cares are going to have to open so parents can go back to work. Right now though, there are still folks with the thinking that staying home means staying well. To some, getting the virus and getting over it is just fine with them. You still have to consider the staff. It's all a catch 22. Not enough good data, testing, and risk vs. benefit from this. Time will tell.

He has a bad sit com that I don't watch that's about all I'm familiar with. not that I know of but he did make this statement. Quote In an appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Friday, Kimmel asked Allen if he went to President Donald Trump’s inauguration. Allen, who plays an outspoken conservative on "Last Man Standing” and has been open about his right-wing political beliefs, stammered and answered, "I was invited, we did a VIP thing for the vets, and went to a veterans ball, so I went to go see Democrats and Republicans.” "Yeah I went to the inauguration,” he said. The comedian got somewhat defensive in his response, prompting Kimmel to say, "I’m not attacking you!” "You gotta be real careful around here, you know,” Allen said. "You’ll get beat up if you don’t believe what everybody believes. It’s like ’30s Germany.” comedic gold.

I imagine it's more popular in rural areas and among older suburbanites. They just renewed it for 2020-2021. Like, today.

No nursery is more like school and it's based at a school. School year ends mid July but the last few weeks they don't do a lot.

Better than Spade. But sometime not long after that, he just took a hard turn towards not funny. Didn't he have a short stint on Monday Night Football or am I recounting a fever dream? Something about the world of Fox News and right wing exploitation (OMG, look, a celebrity likes us!) makes comedians lose their funny.

During a football game, he tried to make a job about the Plantagenets, King Henry the 8ths family. Comparing the steelers o-line or something.

Can' they get Jeff Foxworthy to do a right wing version of The daily Show? It would be a HUGE hit.

Dave Chappelle's most recent Netflix special would probably be considered alt-right to the lib snowflake crowd.
