What bench after these trades ;)

Rondo on a vet minimum

Jordan Clarkson on MLE

Norvell Pelle,  or Nelens on vet min.

Lob city.

And of course Mike Scott and Furk

If it were true, wonder what the picks would be. In today's market, thats likely a Jrue type package of picks. But it was too much for Jrue, and its too much for Lavine.

If its a first, and a nicely protected future first thats ok with me. Dont want to do more than that.

That's way too much for Lavine. Unless they're taking horford.

Is it? I guess it depends on what the multiple draft picks consist of but Richardson has one year left, Thybulle is a bench specialist and will never be a starter, Smith sucks. You are getting a 25 year old up and coming star that brings 3 things at the guard position that the sixers need: shooting, athleticism and someone who can take the last shot in a game.

Morey isnt dumb and isnt going to mortgage the future for mid-level type guys. They still are not willing to part with Ben so Harden isnt happening right now. They will make a move or two after the draft and the new year begins. The sooner some people realize that this team wont look much different, the easier it will be for those people to accept the reality of the situation. They have untradeable contracts but want to see how these guys fit with a new coaching staff.

From what I’ve very recently heard, there is no Nets deal. Rockets want Simmons and Morey knows this. Sixers aren’t willing to trade Ben at this time.

Yea it’s too much. He’s not a leader or willing a team to wins. He’s a nice complimentary player but not worth what was reported.

im so sick of sixers mentality of our guys are better than them, if our guys are better than them, why cant we get to the finals? ben cant or wont shoot the ball like what in universe does this fo see in that when you need shooters to win? i seriously think it's an ego with josh harris obbession with simmons that he just wont want to get rid of him. it has nothing to do with basketball.

i think josh is still putting his nose into everything, this team will never win a championship as long as harris is here, it doesnt matter what great coaches and gms are here.

Or they don’t want to give up on a good 24 year old player, plus more for a player who will most likely never win a championship and is on the back end of his career.

so you would rather have a player that wont shoot the ball over a player that can shoot the ball all because of this championship crap nonsense?  you wanted butler gone, so i guess you are just happy with these players and not giving a crap about winning it all.

I think it's fair of the new coaching staff and GM to see what they can get from Ben and Joel in a new system. I'd try and trade the dreck around them but you have to mortgage assets to do it which is not ideal

People need patience.  Morey and Doc just got here.  They have a lot of crap to sort through.  I know everybody is clamoring for a huge splash but lets start with getting through the draft tonight.  This team needs shooters.  Nobody was ****ing about Ben/Joel fit when they were surrounded by legit shooters (JJ, Ersan, Belinelli, etc...).  Hope they come out of tonight with a legit shooter (like Joe or Terry) and a secondary creator (Anthony or Riller).

Reality is we have two big negative contracts and it's gonna take sometime to move them.  I also don't think Harden is going anywhere before the season.  Houston's owner doesn't want to look anymore like a clown and given what Jrue fetched the price is astronomical right now.  Nets don't have what it takes.  If you look at when the picks/swaps the bucks traded for Jrue it was an absolute albatross.  They got 4 unprotected picks/swaps from 2024-2027.  When the bucks might start regressing.

if doc has a magic wand that miraculously turns ben into a jump shooter, give him his own wing in the nba hall of fame.

No system will allow them to play together until Ben shoots. Spacing will always remain an issue especially in the playoffs where the game slows down.

Embiid can't truly dominate the paint with Simmons on the floor. Nor, do you don't  want Joel standing at the 3 point line as Ben jumps in the air and tries to find an open teammate.

yep...it's looking like more of the same for this upcoming season.

embiid is winded after 3-4 minutes so he stands behind the 3 point line.  simmons drives the lane & jumps (with his back to the basket)...flings the ball out to harris behind the 3 point line...he pumpfakes (because he's a reluctant 3 pt shooter) & drives into traffic where he misses a contested shot.  that's our 76ers, folks!

Yup i thought the bucks did themselves a disservice cause if Giannis leaves and i think he is going too then they are in a world of hurt giving up those picks and swaps. I wouldn’t have done that type of deal for jrue and i like jrue.

Imo It feels like when we look back at the sixers in 10 years the crap show offseason of 2019 where we signed al horford to a dumb contract is going to be the thing that really prohibited what morey and the sixers could do going forward.

I’d hate to be from Houston right now with the way the Texans and rockets are going.

the nbadraft.net mock has orlando taking cole anthony at pick 15....if that happens, maybe they'll trade fultz back to the sixers!  :excited:

Getting zero value for Fultz

The draft night pick swap to get Fultz

Giving up Covington, Saric for Butler then not signing him to an extension

Drafting 53 big men in the last 5 years

Inability to actually draft nba ready guys instead of projects

Knowing Harris isn't worth the max but commuted to him because of the trade.

This team needed Morey in the worst way
