If the Nets bow out for Kyrie's wants, thats dumb. Cause Harden is far better than Kyrie, and Durant wants Harden.

But, I guess thats a more realistic possibility than guessing that Houston likes that Horford package better than a Nets package.

Could also figure Fertitta doing a solid and preferring to deal with his boy Morey. But thats also crazy to think hed take a lesser deal for his team due to his personal relationship.

So.... who knows? But Ill take it.

Could also be they want to tank. So taking the lesser of the deals would work out for that.

Id love to have Hield with Embiid, Harden, and Harris.

Harris fits in, in the corner where he shot like 50% from 3 with the clippers and then barely ever got the ball in a corner with the 6ers. He and Hield can bomb away uncontested looks while most of the defense focuses on trying to stop Joel and Harden.

I dont think Ben is needed with that 4some because Ben is completely useless in the half court. So when you have 2 great halfcourt scorers and you want the ball in Harden's hands Ben has little value just standing in a dunker spot.

If we are able to do a Harden deal without involving Ben, then we dont have Horford to trade for Hield. As good as it sounds to be able to get Harden while not having to give up Ben, Im not sure you end up with the best possible outcome for the team.

Ben becomes worthless on the Sixers if they get Harden. He can't shoot and just clogs the paint for the pick and roll to work and Embiid for his post ups

exactly. agreed 100%. Thats why Id actually rather we DO trade Ben for Harden. And then we have Horford to trade for Hield and further complement the Harden/Embiid duo with perimeter shooting.

If Morey magically pulled off a Harden trade without including Ben he would get a ton of praise (that was my initial gut reaction to the Foshbomb too) but I think it would actually not be for the best due to the fit issues. And, then youve traded Horford in the Harden deal so you miss out on adding Hield...

I mean, I guess they can just trade Ben then for stuff.... but I dont know what that deal would be...

Who gon play da poin? Da flooah genril.

Joel "Do a 180" Embiid. He works on his handle with Hanlen every summer. Hes ready!

Honestly, Harden most likely in that lineup. You may call him the PG and fill the last starting spot with a stretch 4.

If you wanted to acquire a true PG...

Would have to see what draft picks we have left after all that dust settles. Can we draft one? Can a rookie be entrusted at PG with such a strong lineup? Is there enough assets left to trade for someone decent?

Does Rondo come play with these guys, and Doc for the vet min?

Is there someone you can get with the MLE? Does that get it done for Clarkson or Augustine? Can we retain Burks?

Is Dellavadova or even MCW good enough with that group? Theyd at least add D without needing the ball.

A guy I LOVE is Jevon Carter but hes restricted. On a rookie 2nd round deal not sure what he will be able to get elsewhere or what his team is willing to match.

Not sure. Too many possibilities to even guess.

meh... never really know what to believe when negotiations are going on.

Sources are "NBA sources", not Harden. That could mean Houston FO.... could just be Houston's way of saying "include Ben or else"

Or it could be true....

imo it seems like 6ers are in this discusion, and its hard to believe anything we hear about it until its done one way or the other. We will see if we get him or not.

Given Harden's age, I'm wondering at what age a player with his skill set typically starts to decline? In basketball in general, what types of players age sooner or later than others and at what age is this?

True however I could use Ben Simmons in another deal to bring another star back that fits better with James Harden and Joel embiid if I’m able to keep him out of that deal.  Frankly I don’t see any way the 76ers make that deal without Ben Simmons being included. I don’t know why the Rockets would even consider a deal without Simmons when they could get a better package of players from the nets if the sixers didn’t include Simmons.

That’s my biggest concern with trading for James Harden. He is 31 and has a ton of miles on that body. At some point in time he is not going to be the James Harden we have seen over the past couple years. So if you make that trade you better win it in the next two years because in years three and four you don’t know if James Harden is going to be the same player anymore. It’s why if we made a deal i hope Simmons isn’t included cause I’d love to then use Simmons in another deal to bring a younger star in so when harden declines you still have embiid and that player.

From Woj

Sources: After turning down an extension offer to become the first $50M a year player in league history, James Harden’s message to Houston is clear: Get me to Brooklyn. Rockets and Nets have been in contact, but there’s been no meaningful dialogue

Shooters never lose their stroke though and he doesn't rely on athleticism as much as he is crafty with his ability to create space.

Probably why Luka will last until he is in mid 30s and be in the Top 5 all time discussion

I tend to believe the cliff with him is going to be more dramatic than people think it’s going to be. He definitely is crafty but people think he doesn’t have athleticism. He’s had athleticism since ASU. but it’s not like Aaron Gordon who is a super freak athlete. The athleticism he does have is eventually is going to deteriorate so he’s gonna have to get more crafty than he already is. I’m not so sure he can get much more crafty than he is in his prime to account for losing the athleticism he does.

don’t get me wrong I’m not against them going out and getting him.  But I think your window to win with James Harden is the next 2-3 years. After that you are asking a guy at 34 to be an all star. The only 34-year-old I’ve seen play at the level he has at 31 was lebron. It is very rare for a player at 34 to be the same player they were at 31

The other factor is embiid age...will be 27 by the end of this season....so he has what....4 more elite years? Maybe they think harden snd embiids run will tie together? Idk just throwing it out there.

That’s what I would think. You have to be all in for the next three years if you go after harden. And I’m not so sure even if you got James Harden you’re going to be able to put enough guys around Embiid and Harden to make yourself a championship team in the next two seasons. The problem is I don’t think it’s going to be as easy as people think to build the team around those two with the contracts they got themselves into last off-season.

ALL those **** trades are finally paying the piper.

Get Jrue

Get MCW to play backup

Get Noel

Process era basketball is back, with the stars it gave us this time too.

That’s a desperation trade. I like jrue but he’s not even worth half that package.

I was just about to say this.  I've been wanting them to get Jrue for a couple years now.  And he's really good.  But holy cow....

And I read recently that he is extremely highly regarded by NBA players and just doesn't get any fanfare.

Then you had the pelicans say they wanted to send him east because they didn't want to have to face him... that's like LeBron, Durant, Harden type treatment.

Its interesting how good people in the NBA believe he is.

Even having read all that,  I didn't expect it to take that much.

2 firsts for Covington too?

And Chris Paul took a ton to get.  Trade market it wild right now.  Not looking good for the buyers.

Wow Bucks getting Bogdan in a sign and trade too.

they're about to lose giannis if they don't put together a roster he likes.
