Keep an eye on Jae Crowder. Few teams involved but if he takes MLE, Sixers are very possible

He just signed with the Suns

gws2 fail!

He also said Nerlens to Philly would be announced Friday or Saturday.

Instead, we signed Howard.

I guess we could have had an agreement and then when Howard came loose we switched up.

But,  he's 0/2 when actual naming names this free agency.

i mean i think it's been a small theme of this offseason so far.  was floated around that d'antoni was a lock...  then we got glenn as soon as he became avail.

with the moving pieces in the offseason, i believe beat writers and tea leaf readers could go from lava to a block of ice within 5 mins.  i mean dwight even announced he was staying with the lakers before quickly deleting it.

Funny thing is that tweet I posted last night saying only 3 teams had more than 10M in cap space.

This means the few teams with any space are blowing it all on star contracts for guys like Clarkson, bertans and Joe Harris.

Terrible management.  Feel bad for fans with GMs like that.  We know how that is.

at least we got rid of the al's contract because next year we can get one of big star contracts if they are interested in coming here, actually with the teams blowing money at depth players in this year's fa, we have a great chance of landing one.

You say that but Brand and Sixers felt obligated to sign Harris to a max.

Owners are just afraid to truly tank. Thunder might be good in 5 years but at least they are trying to rebuild instead of stuck in purgatory like the Wiz who make the playoffs every year as an eight seed.

All that I have watched shows him willing to put it on the floor with his left,  but always, always finishes right. I

I saw that as well so watched more film and shocked at how fluid he is already at handling the ball with either hand. I was high on him before the draft and still am. Not sure what his ultimate peak is yet. Can he be the starting g to run a team or is he the first guy off the bench.

With this draft if you get your 5th year picked up no matter where you are in the draft then that is a success to me

Ill admit I didnt do nearly as much homework as last draft. Last draft I had a ton of 2nd round targets and even UDFAs.

I have read comparisons to Donovan Mitchell, who I loved in that draft...  or Dion Waiters, who I also loved in the draft. One has been developing his shot and playmaking, while the other never did.

If Maxey can be even close to Mitchell, then its obviously a grand slam at pick 21. Even if he can just be a Waiters type bench scorer, its solid.

I wish they took a more polished scorer, and PG. A bunch were there for the taking. But Im not writing it off as a bust just because he wasnt my guy. I want him to be another Mitchell.

3/30 for Crowder. Just a bit out of our price range.

I wonder if we could swap Danny Green for Redick as part of that trade. Salary seems close enough to match.

Elfrid Payton back to NY.

Gotta get Rondo or make a trade for Hill, or one of the Spurs guards.

Rondo to ATL

was just about to post this.

wonder who morey is targeting or if he's sitting pat waiting to see how other things shake out.

Shams Charania on Twitter: "Rajon Rondo has agreed to a two-year, $15M deal with Atlanta Hawks, sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium." / Twitter

wonder why my links aren't embedding. 🤔

Gotta assume there will be a guard traded for. PG situation is horrible on this team.

You have Simmons, who we all know is a failed experiment at PG. Shake, who isnt really a PG. Curry, who would be exploited on D and isnt really a distributor. And Maxey who also isnt a distributor and is not really even a PG.

We really have no PG on this roster. I understand Ben is going to play there, but weve gotta add a PG. Somoene better than the scrubs that are left in free agency. I dont think someone like Shabazz Napier is what you want if you hope to contend in the post-season.

knicks got Nerlens. 1 year deal. guess we will get him next year after Howard has worn out his welcome.

Teague to Celtics

I know this is the first offseason, and no cap space and all that.... But Morey has a quote about sending Doc out there to use his recruiting powers to bring in big names.

And so far we only signed a washed up Dwight Howard which at this point is questionable when you had a prime Noel available.

Morey can still complete this team via trade. But so far Doc isnt recruiting all too well when Morey hyped him. He was only going to be able to recruit guys to play on minimum deals, but I think theres probably not too many (any?) left to get excited about.

I dont't know if my calculations are right but I just realize that:
currently, Sixers tax bill is around 12 / 13M
If they use the MLE it would be up around 22M
If they use their TPE (and not MLE) it would skyrocket in the range of 32 / 35M

So I'm not sure to see big additions right now.
Of course they could add someone now and than they could use the expirings to cut salaries at the trade deadline in order to go under the tax line.

EDIT: I used this free tool

Danny Green has got to be on the move.  It makes too much sense.

I think we have seen players go where the money is or a legit chance to win ala Harrell to Lakers

Yeah we have.

Between Morey's comments about sending Doc out to recruit, and his Twitter response to the Lakers now, he's talking big game that his roster right now doesn't back up.

I hope he has something big planned or else he's making us a joke right now.

Quit being the drama queen overreactor and have some patience
