Are you aware of Harden’s playoff duds?

James Harden led the Rockets to the Conference Finals with an injured Paul and lost the series 3-4 against probably the greatest team assembled in the 2018 Warriors.

If you think Simmons can come remotely against that then you need to watch another sport. Simmons is such a flawed player that he becames irrelevant in a slow half court game in the playoffs.

Hell, I'm in the camp that Simmons could be an MVP player for the next decade and Top 25 player of All Time, but he just doesn't care to work on his game to take that step. It has to be so frustrating for the organization to see such a wasted talent

Im sure its a lot harder for Harden in the playoffs to do what he does and carry his team. But with Embiid, he will have more space to operate. Or Embiid will. Itll work. Shouldnt be a question about that.

It's more a matter of asking price.  If it was Simmons straight up it'd be done.  I'm not giving up a bunch of draft picks, too.  Especially since Harden can bail in 2 years or you're paying him at the age 33-34 max keep him.

I think that is where most of us are at.

Yep.

Ive said Id do Simmons, one 1st, and Mattise if they wanted him.

Im no trading multiple firsts, and not breaking up the Maxey/Shake bench we have going on.

Throw in kork also if you want. But I agree due to age we shouldn't do multiple first. How Tall is Mattise? Could he be used defensively on KD or giannis?

No.  He isn't tall enough nor strong enough.

Harden with 44 points and 17 assist in his first game.  Don't need him.

That a ball hog scoring machine doesn’t always make a winner.  Embiid and Harden would be a horrible fit.

This might be one of the dumbest things you have ever said.

You think a "me first” shoot at all cost player is a good fit with a lazy constantly out of shape, oft-injured center? LOL.

I know Sixers fan boys in here want him and think Embiid is the bees knees, but neither guy fosters a win at all costs mentality.

I’d honestly love to see Simmons traded.  So the constant crying about him will go away and people can see how he isn’t the only issue.

You want Ben and Joel gone.  That means in 5 years, if we are lucky, we will be where we are the moment.  A playoff team that can't get past the second round.

The more logical thing to do is keep Embiid, pair him with Harden and use them together for 2 years, maybe 3 if he picks up his option.  When Joel misses games during the regular season, Harden picks up the scoring slack and Howard is a good defender and rebounder.  When they play together, either of them can get 30+ any given night.  You have two closers.  You have a ton of space for driving and plenty of open looks for the 3 point shooters.  In the playoffs, I think their offense would be deadly together.

What's your plan?

Blow it all up.  Trade Embiid for a mint so you can rebuild.  7 foot oft injured centers don’t lead teams to championships anymore.

As far as a fit is concerned.  If you treated Embiid and Harden like pieces, they should fit. Problem is, it’s more about personalities then just ability.

Basically how I feel.  Harden is a good player, but if you’ve watched a lot of Rockets games, you’ll see him do the same dumb things over and over again.  He’d be jacking contested 3s when Embiid is open under the basket.

Sorry man, I am not blowing it up and waiting another 7 years to be a contender.  I've been watching this slop team for the last 25 years.  I want a championship ASAP.  By the way, I feel just as frustrated with Joel as you do.  He could put work in and be unstoppable if he had cardio.  But he is our best chance when paired with another great player for the foreseeable future.

He has averaged 9 assists a game for the last four years so try again with the notion that he is a ball hog.

His iso play averaged 1.17 points per possession last year which was higher than the entire Bucks team at .99 a possession.

A good player? Harden is a lock Hall of Famer and a top 25 - 35 player of all time and one of the greatest scorers the league has ever seen. Stop this non sense that Ben is EVEN REMOTELY COMPARABLE.

People don't like him because of his style of play and his love of strip clubs.

I'm a Grizzlies fan that also follows the Sixers so try again.

I like how 4for4 has to misrepresent the viewpoint of everyone else in the thread so that he can act like the smartest guy in the room when something obvious happens and pretend no one else said it.

I like how youre so stupid you actually think someone wouldnt think you could see a post on a public message board where you post. in a thread you created. I also like how you do what you accuse others of all the time. I also like how youre so predictable, I knew you would complain that I didnt quote you, even though I saw you complain at someone else for quoting you the other day. Youve done that so many times in the past. Cant decide if youre insulted to be quoted, or not to be quoted. You just bish either way.
