he's gonna get killed for this which is a shame bc he's right. These athletes today have it so damn good w the money they get paid compared to former athletes like Booger and his generation who didn't come close to this sorta $$. But these guys are putting not as much effort into gameday as they could be bc they're worrying about what they're wearing and their "brands," etc. Maybe Booger comes off a little jealous but he has a right to be, these young punks should empathize with that instead of crying victim over this rant.

I don't think he comes off as jealous. I think he is using his platform to talk to any athlete thinking they will be successful before success happens.

I don't follow him very much.  I know he can get to rim pretty easily and is explosive.  A few questions:

1.  How is his 3 point shooting?

2.  How is his defense?

3.  Approximately how much will his next contract cost?

Great 3 level scorer. Career 37% 3pt shooter. Over 80% from the line. 25 years old. Defense isn't good. Under contract for this year and next. Im sure he will be get as much or more than Tobias harris in 2 years.

Sounds like one 1st round pick and combination of players would be enough.  I wouldn't trade three 1st's for Harden and he makes us a much better contender.  And then we still have the problem, Ben on our team.  His contract is too expensive to be a 4th or 5th option.

1. Not elite. But good enough to be a threat.

I would absolutely do it. Green is bad and has got to be replaced in the starting lineup. However, hes a great trade asset due to his 15M expiring deal. 

 

If they could do that, you have a secondary scoring option with Joel, a primary or secondary ball handler for the starting unit, and Ben can shift in to a defensive specialist role who doesnt need to provide points. 

Lavine makes JJ look like an all defensive player.

nah. 25 year old ascending player, who is an all stat level scorer should cost a good bit. And Id give more than Im willing to give for Harden because of the age as he could be a part of the future.

If they could do a deal like this, and one of those exception trades for a PF to improve on Mike scott, the team would be sick. Improving on Green and Scott would be a huge deal.

I don't think I would pull the trigger for 3 1st's.  He sounds like a glorified Tobias with worse defense.  I like that his contract is up after 2 years so we can decide if he is worth it but if we give up 3 1st's, we have no choice but to re-sign him.  If he was an elite 3 point shooter, you could make a case for a trade like this.  I think we need a perimeter guy who is also dangerous from 3.  

Does this get you to the finals?  I don't think its good enough.

Hes much different than Tobias. Hes extremely athletic and hes an excellent ISO player who can reliably create his own shot. Hes a poor mans Harden. But not too poor cause LaVine is still around a 25ppg scorer. Much better scorer than Harris. And he is definitely dangerous from 3. He has a bunch of 37% and 38% seasons as an ISO off the dribble guy, and top scoring option on his team. Hes not a 45% spot up guy like a Joe Harris or Bertans, but thats because hes a complete scorer, all star type player so he doesnt get those shots and thats not his role. 

I think you want to re-sign him in 3 years anyway. And just eventually let Harris, and Simmons go when theirs expire. If not trade them before that.

I didn't mean his actual playing style but how we would value him.  He is certainly more athletic and explosive.  I'm concerned his 25ppg is more indicative of higher volume and being on a crappy team.  What if he is only a 20-22ppg guy here.  I guess if we can get rid of Ben and Tobi within a year or 2, there will be more cap space to sign other players.  It doesn't seem like a superstar will want to sign here though.  Maybe Morey has the magic.

Yeah... but since hes reached this level of skill, hes never played with another alpha either. Dont necessarily need him to make the team better. Need the duo if him and Embiid to make the team better. Which they would, in the same way that the Harden/Embiid duo would. 

3 level scorer paired with Embiid would create so much more room for everyone else. Even Ben. Allowing Ben to cut and shooters to shoot. And, youd have that ISO scorer we lack in the playoffs when half court offense is locked down. 

Curry seems so hesistant to shoot in every game so far. I thought hed have a quick trigger. Not only is he not shooting it well, but hes passing on a lot of opportunities. 

And this output is pathetic so far. Starters totally suck.

Yup. I do appreciate the refs not calling every time they complain for a foul. Keeps a good rhythm to the game.

Offloading the Harris contract, getting Oladipo, and a shooter like Lamb? Only having to give up 1 first round pick? 

Totally unrealistic I think. But I wish!

Hopefully the cleveland game, and this lackluster effort from a full squad (minus Kork but who really cares about that) will light a fire under their ass to get something done sooner than later. 

I know you have to adjust to a new coach's system but this is still absolute crap. 

We are 3/16 from 3 so far. The improved shooters brought in are underwhelming in every game so far.
