I love Simmons as a defender.  Anyone thinking he could shut down Durant is kidding themselves though.

He will definitely limit him.

I'm not saying he'd shut down KD or Kyrie.  You don't really shut down guys like that.  The problem with their team right now is they don't play defense.  Sixers have been very impressive on that end.  That's all.

And the don't rebound well. Second chance opportunities is their issue.

Agreed.  It’s their best attribute.  I saw RJ Barrett had 26 points last night in another Knicks win.  The Sixers completely shut him down.

RJ is still a jump shooter so it's hard to tell when he is limited. See below

Ben just needs to shoot, just Fing shoot.

Because Jordan is boys with KD and Kyrie so he is still getting too many minutes over Allen who is averaging a double double in 25 minutes a game.

Barrett is just playing more minutes and taking more shots....hes actually less efficient and less accurate than as a rookie.

My hope was that Doc could get Harris playing well enough to flip him in a trade again... but if he keeps playing like he has been, he’s worth the contract and needs to stick.

So does that make Brand a good GM again? Lol

And he was BAD last year

I'm thinking the Harden idea is completely on the back burner.  Maybe even dead completely if we look good against the Nets and nuggets.

Morey is referring to a "Holy Trinity" now.  Ben, Joel, Harris.

Nah. A good GM wouldn’t have let Butler out the door and would have canned BB before last season. And definitely wouldn’t have signed Horford to that horrendous contract, that Morey luckily was able to maneuver out of.

Lol I know, just joking. Harris was ok but, it's insane how much better he is for Rivers. I thought it was just a fluke but, he really knows how to get the best out of him

When Embiid got the lay in on the fast break pass from Ben, I realized I couldn't remember many(any?) fast break buckets for Joel last season.  Hopefully he really is in better shape and stays relatively healthy.

This is my biggest takeaway so far this season.  Embiid is visibly in much better shape (I hope it lasts the season).  It was obvious even in their first game against the Wizards that he lost some fat and wasn't dragging ass up and down the court.

a guy whos source is another guy with a source in the Rockets organization

A well respected Rockets insider on their board clutch fans says harden not getting traded and hasn’t heard the 6ers being mentioned as a real destination for the foreseeable future. Miami and Denver are more likely. Another eastern dark horse team.

Tobias follows up Eastern Conference Player of The Week with another solid performance.  He's looking like the Clippers Tobias that we were all excited about when the trade initially went down.

What does Doc Rivers do that works so well for Tobias and why couldn't Brett Brown figure it out?

One major difference Ive seen on the offensive end under Doc, is that we have a mid range game again which I personally love. Under BB, the entire offense was take it to the rack, if the lane is clogged jack up a three whether you have a good look or not. I think Tobias and almost everyone else is benefitting from our new found mid range game. Imagine if Simmons ever learns to hit a pull up mid range jump shot when it’s clogged down low, he’d be an MVP candidate. Before anyone says it, I know it won’t happen, but I was fantasizing for a minute there.

I loved Brett the person, but I almost feel bad for him with how night and day this team looks this year vs with him, with the same two (/three???) stars running the show.

It probably helps when don't have Horford and Richardson killing you on both ends of the floor

If the sixers continue playing this way and even do it against better teams I don't see them even entertaining that trade anymore.

Nope.

I'd like something minor then to improve on Mike scott, or Furkan.

I don't even think we can get Danny Green kicked to the bench.  Even that seems like it'd take too much now.

Let's just see if they completely suck when embiid sits out likely against Washington though.  I have a feeling that could be ugly.

Is Brett Brown even coaching anywhere in the league?

I think he took the season off. He even quit the Australian team. I think he was just as worn down with the whole sheet show of last season.

If keep Simmons then Morey needs to make Thybulle available on the trade market for a wing or back up stretch 4.

The sad part is that he can actually shoot a mid range shot, but does not have the willingness. Whereas, I on the other hand have the willingness back can't hit jack

I get to actually watch a game tomorrow night.  Is Durant out for BKLYN?

you dont want harden to go to miami, that's really going hurt our chances making it to the finals.

Easy counter to that is to sign Corey Brewer.
