Winning now with Simmons is nice, but, unfortunately, history has shown that we'll be losing later, when it matters, with him.

Sometimes, just sometimes I like to shut off the reasoning part of my mind and be blissfully ignorant (and happy). I making a mental health choice by adopting this 'head in the sand' strategy for the sixers this year. We are tops in the league baby, why worry about the playoffs!?

Will Joel play tonight?  We play Denver at 3pm Saturday.

I assume no.

Possibly. But let’s not forget they were a ridiculous Kawhi shot from being in the ECF just two years ago. And this team has a much better bench, and far better coaching. Yes I know that team had Butler, but I’d think the additional pieces and Harris for some reason always playing his best under Doc, offset that.

Probably correct. I’m betting that if Durant wasn’t going to be out for this game, Embiid would have sat last night and played tonight instead.

It would be dumb to not throw your best at a team you expect to be competing with for seeding at the end of the year.

Doesn't matter that Durant is out. If Embiid didn't play we would have already lost to Washington. Twice! Already... they played us tough both times and aren't even good.

Can't rest on our laurals because of no Durant. We suck without Joel and can't just expect to win this one without him.   Accidently dropping this game could be damaging when vying for seeding.

That's what I was thinking.

One would hope that the rest of the team, with Ben (I know, I know) and Harris should be able to beat them without Durant.  Because we know Embiid is going to miss games this year.  It's part of the deal with him.  Best to reserve him for the stretch and spring.

I'd rest him against Denver if he needs rest.  That game is less consequential.

All they need is for Curry to start out 6-6 on threes again and they’ll be fine without Embiid. NBD.

I wouldn't mind no Joel.  See how our bench compares to their depth, especially with Durant and Dimwiddie out.  Maxey and Shake are playing well right now.  As long as Curry doesn't go cold, we should be good.  And give Tobi the chance to show he is for real this year.

Just a reminder of how close playoff seeding is at the end of the year. Look at how many teams are separated by just 1 game. 2 games....

When you have a chance to handle business yourself, you do all you can do deal these teams a loss.

If it was Charlotte again, or even a western conference team (like our next game vs the Nuggets), fine.

Even if you think you should be able to beat the Nets without Embiid, this isnt a game to take chances with.

Bryant is listed at 6'11" 248lbs and looks like a child.

welll im beginning to change my mind now. Dinwiddie, Irving, and Durant...

Simmons, Harris, and the bench should handle LeVert.

They'll be fine as long as Simmons doesn't forget how to play basketball like he did in the Cavs game.

Was just gonna post the Curry news. There was a 100% profit boost on draft kings for this game but now Im avoiding assuming no Embiid, and no Curry.

Guess we would see more action for Maxey tonight with Shake moving in to the starting lineup. Though, I might rather move Thybulle in to the starting lineup and keep that bench unit more intact.

As far as I can tell, Embiid is playing.

Man.  A great match up has seemingly dwindle to just another game.

Confirmed via TNT.  Pre game for a basketball game is f-ing preaching about politics and social issues again.  JFC.

I really liked the Nets new look the last few years.  The throw backs tonight are pretty hideous
