HAHA.  What happens to Joel's production the moment that ball hog Harden hits the floor.  Get a clue.

EDIT - Ben will NOT be traded for Harden.  End of discussion.

oh, he's an ahole...and i hate watching him play. it's a gamble but they're not winning anything with non shooting simmons & embiid.

Sixers games would take about 6 hours to finish with him and Embiid parading to the line every time down the court.

Kyrie is a mental case and should retire. Not playing for personal reasons but as his sister's birthday party mask less. Dude is on another planet

What happens to his production??  How old are you, 8?  Joel will be MORE productive on both sides of the court when he doesn't have to burden the entire load.  He and Harden can score 28-30 each night.

I agree that Harden isn’t a great option. I think he’s a me first player and will never win a title.

But I don’t know if you can win with Ben either. Ideally I’d like to trade him but not for Harden. Trade for picks and a solid starter to push Green to the bench. Put Maxey in at PG.

He is selfish but he has never been paired with a big man like Joel.  And we finally have some shooters.  He would fit in nicely.

Joel would get infinite more spacing.  Also who are you going to double?  PnR with Embiid and Harden would be amazing.  Not a fan of Harden and I've been patient with Ben, but he's not going to change.  He's a detriment on the offense end.  There's nothing he does on that end of the floor that Harden can't do 20x better.  Defensively he would definitely be missed.  He's all NBA on that end and can guard 1-4 and occasionally 5.  I want him to succeed so bad, but I've been watching the same damn player since he came into the NBA.  Only place he improved on since his rookie year was defense.

Its not like Ben needs to be a stellar shooter. We are not asking for much. Really all he needs is a mid range shot. If he could shoot at the level of say Jimmy Butler that would be more than enough. ARGHHHH so frustrating!!!!!

Heat didn't even bother to guard him until he got to the paint and he still didn't shoot.

I wish it was Beal and not Harden.  Shame they got Westbrook.  Could you imagine Westbrook and Ben playing together?  No need to defend the perimeter.

These are the two teams he’s wanted all along. I have preferred the latter in Philly personally.

that's harden's mom.

On the flip side, is Ben a piece Houston uses to build around or is he a temp an eventually gets moved on?

You aren't building anything but a track team if Ben is your centerpiece. He will get the all-cardio award each year.

I mean seriously...you can't watch this stuff over and over and not realize he's not changing on offense.

I thought Beal wanted out. Is there no chance of use getting Beal? Would Houston do a swap of Beal and Harden (that would be funny - Harden back with Westbrook)?

ben gets compared to lebron so much...  i watch our games...  then i watch lakers games...  i get it.  i see it.  when ben commits to driving to the basket with a clear lane, help the soul(s) who wants to stop him.  also, ben's vision is other worldly at times.  he will spot the correct guy and get them the ball.  his size and frame makes him a natural to get rebounds.  on fast breaks, good luck.

but then i see the other intangibles lebron's game, that have yet to (maybe never will?) develop in ben's.  when lebron takes it to the rim, he's getting 2 and maybe one more at the charity stripe.  while he will pass out to an open player, he's dedicated to scoring.  ben?  those drives to the basket often result in a kick-out...  some doing a 180, spin backwards, when he's 6ft. away from the rim.  he has the size and i'm sure the strength to muscle it past the defender(s), but does not.  and the elephant in the room, is the shooting.  lebron WILL take the last shot.  he WILL ask for the ball with 10 seconds left in the game, down by 1.  he's not a guy you would take off the court in that situation.

as great as ben is on the defensive end...  and many flashes as he's had to show a lebron-esque ceiling or higher...  he's sputtering to get to that level.

but when it comes down to it, there is no right or wrong with ben.  IF you trade him and it finally clicks, you probably gave away a generational talent.  no compensation would be enough.  but if your keep him, and he is what he is...  you have an all-nba defensive presence with court vision like no other.  he's a triple double threat as he his...  which on its own puts him in the elite category, but not GREATEST category.  would it be enough to win a championship?  with the right luck and right balls bouncing your way.  but that's how nearly all championships are won.

I would prefer Beal also but he would cost a lot more.  At least 1 or both of Maxey or Shake would most likely have to be included with Ben and a couple 1sts.

there's a good chance harden has played his last game for houston. rumor is they might send him home until they can find a trade. that should drive the asking price down, i'd think.

You also need to factor the money. You are paying him max player money and he's nowhere near that. If Ben was getting paid half of that, people would be disappointed because he would be a bust for a first overall pick but at least you can go get another good to great player.

ben had a sheety game but he's a really good defender. we'd miss his defense against opposing wings...especially if thybulle is included in the trade. might still be worth it though.

JJAW has terrible games, but he's a really good blocker.

F him and F ben.

If we trade for Harden, and it does not work out, he is gone after next season.  Ben's contract if off the books and we have cap space.  There is no one else you can trade for who is available (unless you use Maxey/Shake which I do not want to do) that will give this team a better CHANCE at a championship in the next two years.  Then we either re-sign Harden or we let him walk and have space.  Maxey and Shake are two years better.  What the f is there to lose, Ben Simmons??  LOL!

Embarrassing to put them in the same conversation. James wins another ring or two and he is the GOAT, Ben has made TWO 3pointers in 4 years.

Compare Ben and Giannis then sure, one has work ethic and other rather play video games.

Harden puts up way too many assists to be selfish. He loves having shooters on the floor around him (you got Curry 2 and Green) and a pick and roll guy (Embiid >> Capella). I think he would be an improvement

I didn't want to say it because he wrote a long thought out post but I'm glad you did lol.
