I'm still interested in my idea of Ben for Fournier and Gordon.

You can also work various trades with Portland that don't include Lillard or McCollum, perhaps more realistic 2 guys out of the group of Covington, Trent, Simon's, Hood, Elleby. These are guys who match salary with a Danny Green + Kork or Scott or Ferguson, rather than a ben deal.

The Knicks are in talks to acquire Rose. We should be in on that.

All he needs is someone like rubio polishing him up and making him shine with a dime.

Dude, seriously, what’s your obsession with Rubio? He isn’t even good.

Maxey used to look promising

He’s just not going to be in the regular rotation right now, especially with Doc. I think a move or two will be made for the bench, right now they have a weird grouping of reserves that all play the same position but each with wildly different skill sets. Would assume they’ll be looking for a stretch 4-5, aka the Mike Scott role

I gave two options. Rubio is perfect. Add another player who is a shooter coming from Minnesota.

For WHO

So trade a PG who refuses to shoot for a PG who can't shoot while losing the caliber of defense Simmons provides. Rubio's name should not be brought up.

I mentioned a couple weeks back that Shamet might be a piece they should look at bringing back. He had fallen out of the Nets rotation and he could provide a shooter off the bench. His percentage has been down this year but he looked pretty good in this game.

100% agree on Rubio. If that’s who you get back at PG, I’d rather just keep Simmons. I am 100% on board with a Simmons trade, but Rubio would be pointless.

Add some firsts and get it done

So shake has 2 years left on his deal. I've got to think he's going to want a new contract before the end of this one and he will definitely get paid. Do we realistically have the chance to keep him long term with our cap situation?

Also works

I cant play with any involving Hood right now because hes not eligible for trade yet. Simons and Trent are obviously more attractive due to age and growing game. Hood is maxed out but would still be a nice scorer to add.

I really like this one. But theyd have to acquire a PG first in a different deal

This works with, or without Ferguson thrown in. Add picks to get it done. It gets the guards, and the stretch 4 we need.

What do the Blazers get out of it? Give up a young prospect that has shown flashes for a guy on an expiring?

Ben has more value than that. I rather just cross my fingers he can score.

I am looking to trade Green and his expiring for a wing on a longer deal, but maybe the team doesn't want to carry his contract.

I dont think Ben has more value than that 2nd trade.

On the first one theres been years of speculation of Portland eventually breaking up their Dame/McCollum backcourt. But theyve not done so. This trade with the expiring contract helps get them room to make moves while keeping their 2 main guards together. I mean, I could have made another McCollum deal, but those ideas that have been talked about for so long just dont seem based in reality. MAYBE Portland would be interested in tinkering with the other parts of their roster. Theyd need to make some trades to make room to retool around their main guys.

I am too but I dont know who you get thats an upgrade.

Ideally, Id like to keep Green but put him on the bench with an upgrade taking his starting spot. Thats what Fournier represents in that other deal. You get more scoring in the lineup, but keep Greens shooting and D on the team. That would be great for our bench.

As flawed as Ben is he is slowly showing flashes of being more aggressive. He needs to continue to attack the hoop with force and use his body. Not turn his back.

I do this type of trade. Ross isnt in Magic long term plans

Ross is nice. How much do you really think he improves over what Green is currently giving? Why would Ross fall out of rotation in that bad team?

I dont think this bodes well for being legitimate contenders

If you did this trade and also traded for Rubio, we would be good.

Oh. My. God. Rubio sucks. He is a facilitator who sucks at shooting, and can’t play defense... As anti-Ben as I am, even Simmons is a better option at PG. Neither can/will shoot, both can pile up assists... Ben’s defense is the tie breaker.

He is one of those small moves that when you look back are underrated. I remember alot of those guys on the miami heat.

How does it help the team to replace Ben with a PG who is even worse offensively, and far, far worse defensively? Like there is literally nothing I can think of that Rubio does better than Simmons.

And this is coming from someone who has wanted to trade Ben for 2 years now. But you don’t trade him to replace him with a player that is far worse.

I'm not supporting the idea of trading for Rubio.  But he could teach Ben a TON about playing the PG position.

Rubio is a better PG who would make the half court offense work more smoothly.   but with poor shooting and far worse D I don't think you get a net gain out of that trade.

D Rose to the Knicks

I didn't say trade ben for him. I said add him by trading like 2nds an a player or 2.  Korkmas is stealing minutes definitely trade him.

Nothing the Magic do makes sense. Mo Bamba doesn't play and he was 6th pick.

If the Sixers play in thr luxury tax it is harder to bring in salaries and dealing expiring for longer term deals is best way to keep talent.
