Missed the game but looks like a terrible second quarter almost screwed them, then they locked it in (especially on defense) in the 4th. Was going to say it was a pretty ho-hum win against a bad team, but I had no idea the Kings had won 7 of their last 8. Shows how much attention I’ve paid to anyone but the Sixers this year.

Team is still undefeated when all the regular starters play at 14-0.  They're 17-1 with Joel and Ben playing.  Best 4th quarter defensive rating at 98.8.  Thybulle for as much as he can't play offense can save some games on defense.  Played great defense on Fox in the 4th.  Having Embiid, Simmons and Thybulle on the court together is devastating defensively.

The Kings were making almost every shot they took at one point in the 2nd quarter, but the Sixers fought back and managed to stay close going into halftime.

Simmons was having a real hard time guarding Fox.  Bagley stepped out and hit some 3s over Embiid.  Kings have a good team this year.

No way Ben is traded at this point, maybe in the off season if they fall short again.

A few minor deals would be nice though.

Tobias needs a legit back up and I think Thad would be the perfect guy for that because he can play so many positions and start in spot situations.

A ball handling guard that can initiate offense and have Shake play a bit off ball so he can slash and come off screens.

Also, wonder what the F Thybulle did during the four month break. He took the Simmons route because his 3P% is 25% this year. If he was shooting 36-37% from 3 this year then Green is moved for another piece but since he didn't do crap they have no choice but to keep Green and his shooting.

Yeah, Kings have some real nice pieces. Haliburton looks like an excellent pick for them as well.

I feel like the Sixers had contributions from everyone at some point. There wasn't a clear cut star for the whole game. Everyone pitched in at different times and then they closed it out.

It was pretty funny that they didn't go back to Whiteside when Holmes got into foul trouble. Bagley played some excellent D on Joel when he took over the matchup considering how outsized he was.

Just read this article and they said the exact same.

Joel Embiid has been absolutely incredible, and the starting five that Daryl Morey reconfigured on draft night has outscored opponents by 98 points in 257 minutes heading into Tuesday night, averaging an obscene 124 points per 100 possessions—an offensive rating head and shoulders above the league’s best full-season mark. Philly’s overall shooting and playmaking shortfall becomes glaringly obvious without Embiid, though; the offense completely craters whenever he sits. A stretch 4 or stretch 5 who could help open up the floor when Ben Simmons runs the show without Embiid would be nice. So would another backcourt initiator who could reduce Philly’s reliance on promising young but unproven types like Shake Milton and rookie Tyrese Maxey.

Bring back Ish Smith

I really think Morey uses Green and his expiring deal to get another guy on a longer deal. Mine as well dream big and go for it.

Also have that Horford trade exception at 8.2 million you hope Morey uses.

Uh oh...someone's a tranny

Even though they are first in the east, they have had the 2nd easiest schedule in the nba and have the 5th most difficult remaining schedule. They need to make some changes.

I've been feeling the same about no Simmons trade.

They have one of the best records in the league.

They are undefeated with all 5 starters.

And,  the league is lacking any really impressive dominant teams clearly better than us right now.

We recently beat the Lakers pretty convincingly.  It became a close game but most of the time we just looked like the better team,  and won.

At this point,  it's probably not smart to make such a major change.

But yes,  bench can add a stretch 4 and a PG.

Just watched the game. Few thoughts:

  • We don't win that game without Thybulle. Fox was breezing past everyone all game for easy points. That guy is crazy quick. I don't think I've ever seen Simmons getting beaten like that. Thybulle played exceptional D against Fox.
  • It was nice to win a game against a good/hot team and it not be purely down to Embiid. Everyone chipped in. Except Green :P
  • Ben has played better the last few games. I mean I know the bar has been pretty low and he should be doing so much more than he is offensively but still. At least it's been better.

That's like two to many first round picks. Tyrese is probably better than Zach given time.

Does Charlotte have any good guards?

No way we should trade maxey

Its two first and a swap that they wont see.

I highly doubt Maxey puts up 27.4ppg, 5 assists, 5 rebounds, 85.9 FT%, 41% from 3 and is only 25. You don't average 27ppg by accident, that is ELITE level scoring.

I was anti LaVine for a while and @HazletonEagle can tell you that but he has shown more playmaking skills than ever before.

Maxey hasn't proven anything and if you get a player like Lavine you do it. Just like you would for Beal.

The window to win is right now, not 3 years when Maxey is a quality NBA player especially since he is a below average shooter. Meaning he can't be played beside Simmons or Shake in cases because they both are poor shooters. If you can get LaVine without giving up Ben you do it. Two Picks in the late 20s and Maxey for Zach would be a no brainer

Ball who is a legit NBA player at 19. Monk who is a shooter and not much else then Rozier and Graham who are small inefficient shooters.

If you watched any basketball you would know this instead of shouting to the rooftops that Rubio is good.

Ben seems to be starting to cut down on turnovers. And while there is a list of issues I still have with his lack of offensive skillset, you can hide him at times if needed and he wont actively hurt the team so long as hes not continually throwing the ball away throughout the game and especially in clutch time possessions. Hes gone from a net negative on offense, to now just being a body out there. Which is something.

Credit Cassell for that. There was an article written a few weeks ago about Cassell being in Ben's ear about turnovers throughout the game.

And Im not becoming a ben fan. But I am off the trade Ben wagon currently. Not because of anything he has done, but because of the way the season is playing out, for the 6ers, and in the league as a whole.

Beal and LaVine both train with the same trainer as Embiid, Hanlen. Interesting tidbit.

Ben uses his Cousin

I don't watch basketball. But I do know from reading about other players opinions, that rubio is a guy that makes others better. And he is experienced as to give veteran leadership.

Rubio would be a massive downgrade from Simmons.

There are about 10, maybe 15 players I would even consider trading him for.

I like Maxey a lot but he’s not an untouchable player. If you can get somebody in here they can give you another 18 to 20 points that is huge for this team. As much as it would suck to lose him because in the future I think he’s going to be a good player but the Sixers have a chance this year if you add that type of player to give the nets fits. Do I think they beat the nets? Probably not but I would bet you they’re going to give them a really good run for their money If they can get that scorer. And I’m not a huge Zach Lavine fan but if you got his Offense with simmons, harris, embiid and green/curry you are a very dangerous team. I think they are a good team right now that makes them super dangerous

No but kork, green and a first for Rubio would be good.

17 years on the EMB and I’m about to block my first poster over Rickey Rubio
