Honestly F melo. Legitimately every time he plays us he plays like vintage melo

Nah, always fun to see an older guy that no no wanted still turn it on. Melo is a professional scorer.

Yeah except when it’s against the sixers and it’s about to sink them

Might be Ben’s best game of the year. 23 points on 10-12 and 3-3 from the line. 10 boards, 8 assists and 0 turnovers.

Wow kantor just completely flopped and lillard just took like 4 steps

tie ball game. Would be up one if howard didn’t have a dumb foul at the end of the 3rd giving the blazers two points.

Looks like a loss

Curry is a G

Well that foul sucked

Sixers lose

Wtf was that

Call a timeout for that inbounds play. Like set a double screen that curry comes off of and have a chance to launch a three for the win. That play was doomed from the start as no one set a screen. There was supposed to but Embiid screened no one

Spoke too soon

Hard to blame him because he had to get the ball in otherwise he was gonna get a five second call. no one was moving but Harris after they couldn’t get it to curry. I watched the replay embiid was supposed to set a screen on Gary Trent to get curry open. and completely just didn’t set the screen so he stayed with Seth Curry. If Embiid gets his body on trent on that screen Seth Curry is wide open for a shot to try to either win the game or tie the game. Watching it again that play works if embiid sets a screen and doesn’t just run to the basket

Corpse of Carmelo strikes the Sixers.

And Harris sucks again.

Frankly if they have shake they probably score enough to win this game. However they still need another scorer. Portland is good not great and the sixers are in a dogfight with them. If you got yourself another scorer that’s consistent this game likely isn’t close down the stretch. The difference between the sixers being a good team and great team is adding another scorer/shooter. Like i said yesterday if you get a lavine type of player the sixers are super dangerous. You get his 28 points per game average even if it drops to 23-24 with the sixers it is such a massive help.

That was frustrating.  No punch off the bench without Shake.

They really could use an upgrade from Danny Green as their fifth starter. He is way too inconsistent scoring and it kills them. He had 5 tonight. Out of his last 10 games he’s had single-digit point games in seven of them. Even Ben Simmons is in double figures and he’s not a scorer. It’s actually why I would trade for Wayne Ellington and move Danny Green to the bench. If you get 11 points out of Ellington with green just giving 4-7 off the bench it’s a much different game.

They lost.  Idiots.

Succinct and to the point.

Anyway, not going to win them all but this was a glaring example of how the lack of bench scoring is hurting them. I know Shake was missing, but they need more from that bench. This is still probably the best bench they’ve had in recent years, but still not enough to win it all.

I’ve come around to the idea that this team is capable of winning even with Ben.  Ideally I’d still like to see him traded to upgrade, but I do think the starting five is good enough to contend if they just make a couple minor moves to improve the bench. They need another scorer for when Shake is either slumping or unavailable. In particular they desperately need a backup 4.

They either need to get a couple more bench players who can score, or one bench player and maybe someone to replace Green in the starting lineup to push him to the bench.

It's unfortunate they had Mike Scott for another year this year rather than retraining and giving those minutes to Glen Robinson.

We would probably only be needing a guard now.

That 2 year full MLE has been horrible every day since it was offered.  He sucked last year and fell out of the rotation on an abysmal bench unit.  This year he been injured almost all season so far this year.

sixers never beat portland...whatevs.

He’s always sucked. Another piece of evidence supporting Brand’s incompetence.

This team needs a Zach Lavine player so bad.....the wing and bench scorer is just horrendous.

The season he is having is pretty amazing. The only player that is close or better than him in scoring, rebounding and assists, along with the %'s on that scoring, is Steph Curry and he isn't even that much better. Remarkable All star season at 25 years old. Come on Daryl!
