There’s a documentary on Ben Simmons called "One and Done” streaming on Showtime. Seeing him play as a little kid and in high school, dude is shooting jump shots all over the place. From mid range, from 3, all the dude did was shoot. Then when they showed his LSU days he looked exactly how he looks now. I wonder what happened. Anyway, it’s a good documentary and worth watching.

I hate this play. Yeah, Carmello holds Harris and throws off his line to the ball. And yeah, a half second earlier if Ben anticipates the pass it gets there.

But Covington was supposed to get the down screen from Joel off a little V cut. You have to realize who you have there setting that screen. Joel had a man between him and the basket to seal off any lob opportunity, and Covington was fronting him. With his 2 defenders, and Carmello on Harris youre inbounding the ball to an immediate numbers disadvantage. Covington fronting Joel was in perfect position to watch that pass, and jump it when he saw it coming.

You can question the foul on Carmello but it was an understandable no call. You can question Ben's lack of anticipation on the play. And you can question why he didnt choose a bounce pass to keep it away from Covington who was obviously baiting. But we know Ben doesnt have that natural feel for PG to make the smart play there. And really, the play design wasnt great. Its Doc still misunderstanding his personnel.

If we didnt have Embiid, a lesser center may not get doubled. If Simmons was a threat on offense, maybe a defender is guarding him on the pass to make sure he cant get it back and pop a 3. But no one needed to guard him all the way out there with 3 seconds left, so they were about to double Joel, right where the ball was being thrown. Not smart. Doc needs to anticipate how people will guard Joel. How people will not guard ben in that spot and situation. And Ben didnt have the right skillset to make the right pass at the right time.

It's unfortunate they had Mike Scott for another year this year rather than retraining and giving those minutes to Glen Robinson.

We would probably only be needing a guard now.

That 2 year full MLE has been horrible every day since it was offered.  He sucked last year and fell out of the rotation on an abysmal bench unit.  This year he been injured almost all season so far this year.

We had him in Alec Burks. He shot 41% for 3 with the Sixers last year and shooting 45% from 3 on 5 attempts for the Knicks.

This team needs a Zach Lavine player so bad.....the wing and bench scorer is just horrendous.

The season he is having is pretty amazing. The only player that is close or better than him in scoring, rebounding and assists, along with the %'s on that scoring, is Steph Curry and he isn't even that much better. Remarkable All star season at 25 years old. Come on Daryl!

BUT BUT BUT MAXEY

LaVine value might reach Beal trade value soon. He is shooting 42.5% from 3 on 8 attempts, like what in the F. His assist to turnover isn't great, but you deal with it when he scores 28 a night.

I think that was a horrible play call and if the ball was going to Harris why make it such a slow developing play. Not to mention when Harris catches it he will be fading away from the bucket with under 3 seconds to go.

Don't overthink it, clear out space for Embiid so he can post up and take a shot.

If the screen worked,  and embiid was single covered,  Harris would have popped up there for a wide open shot. Could have curled around to square up. There could have been room.

But doc misjudged how teams would defend his players.  So it didn't work.

Embiid would have had Derrick Jones or Covington on him. Harris doesn't need to touch the ball.

Harris could have also flattened around the screen and Covington wouldn't be close.

Sounds like I would want to kill myself after watching.  I'll pass.  What he could have been.  So frustrating!

Who/what will it realistically take to get Lavine at this point?

I believe Harris was going to.  But the pull on his arm or jersey by Carmelo threw him off his line.

Who knows because Bulls Colby White a G that can't shoot. That roster has talent but makes zero sense.

George hill coming off the bench would be nice.  Or similarly, a move to get another starter that moves Green to the bench.

Morey is the pro at trading expiring deals for equally talented guys on longer deals.

Lost even with Embiid dropping 35 and Ben 23.......bench sucked

Also, I can't stand Green.  Dude should be in G-league.

Massive trade haha and Draymond Green goes to the Celtics but wouldn't fit on the page.

Ahhh because standings before the playoffs automatically means CHAMPIONSHIP

This team doesn't have enough firepower to hang with the Lakers, Clippers, Celtics, Nets and probably the Suns. Hell couldn't outscore the Blazers without CJ, Nurkic, and Zach Collins. Yet they scored 114 on the Sixers with Ben and his All NBA Defense.

Sixers might be 6th in scoring, but they are also 5th in pace. Pace goes away in the playoffs and actually have to run offense on a consistent basic. This team will struggle to score in a half court setting come playoff time.

Danny Green the guy that has helped the Raptors and Lakers win rings the last two years. Give me a break. Not his fault Thybulle DID NOTHING to improve his corner 3 for four months and Doc has to rely on Green because he can shoot and provide space.

I am sure you knew this already though.

Buddy Hield would be perfect

He's averaging 8.7 per, 3.7 rebounds and 1.9 assists

He blows

And I told you why he is playing but go ahead and disregard that.

Highly doubt that is enough, but can make it work due to Horford 8 million trade exception
