For the price they could make a few moves.

But that won't move the needle vs Nets and Bucks, Lakers, Clippers, Suns.

Green is such a detriment offensively until Simmons scores 23ppg+

i'd rather have lowry than green...even though green has been playing really well lately.  and possibly even throw in maxey since he's not really in the rotation. i wouldn't add much beyond that though...definitely not thybulle or shake.

I'd like to see a starting lineup of Lowry, Thybulle, Ben, Tobi and Joel.  That there is some defense.  You could have Curry and Shake first up off the bench and stagger accordingly.  But when you need 4th quarter stops that starting lineup would get them.

I will be very disappointed if we cannot upgrade from Mike Scott.

I wonder what Shake's value is right now because his contract is absolutely amazing right now. 1.8 million this year and a team option of 1.9 million next.

But how do you shoot 43% on 3.4 attempts last year and now 31% on 3.2 attempts from 3. All while increasing your FT% from 78% to 86%.

Toronto is asking for way too much fir a 34 year old that wants a new deal if 30 mil per

I read that yesterday as well. Frankly he goes to Miami in two years he’s 36 and Butler is 33. Both could massively decline.

I'm warming up to the idea of trading for Ball.

Meh....

Brogdon, or Grant should be the top 2 pivots from Lowry

I prefer both of those guys before Ball obviously but Brogdon isn't really available and not sure the cost of Grant.

Lonzo will be cheaper, he is 23 and looking for 20 million per on his next contract.  His shooting form is much better and if he can continue to work on his 3's this off-season, he will become even better.  He and Ben would be a nightmare in transition.  And in a years time if Ben still isn't shooting, you can trade Ben for a superstar and Lonzo can be the better offensive but worse defensive version of Ben.

Lonzo is a plus defender although not at Ben's level.  It's one of the reasons I've been in favor of adding him at the right cost.  I would also obviously be happy with Brogdon or Grant but I don't see why Detroit would move Grant at all.  Brogdon comes with injury concerns but he was my preferred FA move after it became apparent they were not bringing back Butler that offseason.

Why not? Kid can shoot the ball, has a good assist to turnover ratio, knows how to defend and is length on the wings for Irving, Harden.

Who cares what his father says. He has been irrelevant for a while now.

Screw Toronto. Let them eat it when he walks next year for nothing.

If we can convince Lowry to make it a 2 year deal for 20 million per, would that make it more feasible?

Last two years for Lonzo from 3:

2019 - 37.5% attempting 6.3 per game

2020 - 38.5% attempting 7.8 per game

That is a good percentage on such high volume and there is room to improve.

Honestly not sure the money is the issue. To me it’s the fact you have give up assets for a 34 year old and his big decline could come at any time over the next two years. The last year of the contract becomes an expiring so it helps in matching salaries in a deal. Problem is you used up assets to do it and likely don’t have many left in your holster

In this scenario, you would have to rely on Joe, Reed, and Bradley (picking up his 5 million option next year) being bench contributors next year.  Shake (who is on a super cheap contract through next year) and Thybulle will have to take a big step forward which is definitely what I expect from them.

I think I take the chance on Lowry as long as Thybulle doesn't go and we can bargain him down to 20-23 million for the 2 year extension.  Lebron, Durant, and Davis have serious injuries and Joel is playing out of his mind.

I don’t think Lowry would go down to that number. Especially considering he could go to Miami who wants him make the same and no state tax. That’s another thing. He had leverage cause he can just leave if he wants too at years end if he doesn’t like what the sixers are offering. It’s been rumored he wants Miami the most as well.

yeah...with our luck, we get lowry & he butlers us in the offseason by signing with miami.
