Yeah, that's the problem.

The bigger problem is that we went from being an asset with massive value (expiring contract) to being utterly worthless. He and Scott coming off the books does nothing for us given our salary commitments. Morey just allowed to valuable assets to become worthless for no reason.

Scott I'll give you though I think you are overvaluing his expiring contract. Not sure there was a better option to be had at the 3 without giving up Thybulle which there is no way in hell I would do. Same with Maxey unless it was for Ball because Ball is only 23. I would not trade Maxey for a vet in decline. So who was the better option to trade for to start at the 3?

The positive about all this is that our chemistry is not ruined.  Let's see what happens.

His numbers the last four years have remained steady, pretty much

18 ppg, 7 assists, 5 rebounds, 85 FT%, and about 38% from 3.

Dude has played 16 years in the league for a reason and a reason Shake is making 1.8 million.

He's old and in decline. I don't care what he did 3 or 4 years ago. Athletes age fast.

Not put all his eggs in one basket and move on to something else. Move Scott for legitimately ANYTHING.

That INCLUDES THIS YEAR

There were a lot of other guys to be had but it ended up being a sellers market where teams were asking too much.  Either that, or their GM's were stupid not to make trades of players who they are going to lose this off-season and get nothing for.  We can't help that.

Hill was a fine move. They needed 1 or 2 other smaller ones like that. People keep posting the 76ers are in 1st....OK....playoff ball is different and Simmons sucks in half court. He is basically in there to play defense and nothing else.

That's fine but since his last game, he declined.  You don't know yet because you haven't see him play his next game.  Duh!

This year

17.5ppg, 7.5 assists, 5.6 rebounds, 39.5% from 3 on 7.1 attempts and 2.4 assist to turnover margin

Some Fing decline

Lets give Paul Reed Mike Scott's minutes.

This year his stats are almost identical to Shakes. Shake's FG % is slightly higher. I'm not giving up years of first round picks and 2 potential future stars for a declining Lowry who is averaging 3.5 points a game more than Milton is coming off the bench.

I don't care if they didn't trade for him but give the man some respect.

Makes zero logical sense especially Scott

I will bet money Doc saved Green from being traded because he has been shooting 39% from 3 last 2 weeks I think. Probably just a hot streak

He's at 39% for the season on 6+ attempts per game.  Right on his career average.

Shake is shooting 30% from 3 Lowry 39.5% on 6 attempts.

Lowry tells Shake to make sure his Gatorade is nice and cold when he needs a break

It's not about disrespecting Lowry, its about not giving up young talent. They wanted Thybulle who has the potential to be a top 5 defensive player in the league. He and Maxey are so young we don't even know what they are yet. Giving up on young guys with that much talent is unwise.

Not to mention having Danny Green on your team means you automatically win the Championship.

Cool 9 points a game as a starter will get it done vs Harden, Irving and KD.

Green has only averaged more than 10ppg ONCE in last 6 years.

and what team is taking mike scott?

We went over this all year. How many years does Joel have left? 3 maybe 4.

He doesn't have time for potential.

The Mike Scott for Lebron deal we turned down will haunt us for ever.
