I haven't looked yet but I'm sure TATE is taking the trade down news well and calmly discussing the pros and cons.

Good point. Has he been more consistent this year? Yes. Will he stay that way? Again, he's hot and cold and that's my point. He never stays that way especially in the payoffs.

I'll put it like this....two years ago they needed one shot to win a game who was taking it? JJ or Butler.

This year? ??????

Also, look at it vs good teams. 0-1 Lakers, 1-4 against the Bucks, 0-3 vs Jazz. He put up points in those games, but beyond the line when things are tight in big playoff games still concerns me. Doesn't mean he won't be a stud, but that is where he is going to have to knock things down from.

He’s been pretty much nothing but HOT while playing in Doc’s system. Whether that is in LA or Philly. He’s a totally different player, for whatever reason, while playing for Rivers. He’s the damn Tobias whisperer.

And that, really, is my main point when I say I don’t expect this team to have the same playoff struggles as in years past. IMO Brett Brown was a massive part of this team’s failures. They’re already showing signs of not just being the same ole’ Sixers since the coaching change. Actually winning games without Embiid being a huge part of that.

More good points. Hope I'm wrong I just don't trust Harris or the others yet. Think they know they need more too, which is why they were going for the Toronto trade. But you have me a bit more hopeful.

LOL which means nothing past more deflection. What I asked was what would show things would mean a different outcome in the playoffs because it's a different game and regular season scores don't matter. You have snarky comments, but little past that.

Main point isn't that they won't do well this year. I'm glad they are winning, but this team as a whole hasn't shown me they have taken steps to fix the issues they have been having. That isn't defeatist, that is just not putting blinders on. As NY Eagles said with the Pulp Fiction quote. It's great but let's take it easy.

Almost every guy on this team is having arguably the best year of their career. They’re extremely well coached. They went from having the wors coach in the nba to one of the best. They surrounded Ben and Jojo with shooters. If you see the same team as last years you don’t understand the game very well and I can’t help you.

Anyone know when George Hill will be available?

I've been wondering this too.  I read that he got the cast off in the last week or so and was rehabbing before returning to play but I didn't see any kind of timeline.  Not sure if Morey mentioned it during his interviews today.  Haven't had a chance to listen to anything yet.

I didn’t have time to read the article but saw a headline earlier where Morey said he thinks we are talking days before both are back, not weeks.

Im thinking the plan is to just wait until they are back home after the road trip.

I was hoping for Waddle at 12 and he's the first WR off the board.

Coaching. Now that us a point that could gave been made 3 posts ago without the BS. That is better this year.

We disagree on the players other than Embiid which I said at the start. I'm glad they didn't make the Toronto trade but if the 76ers agreed with you they wouldn't have been going for something that large. They see some of the flaws I mentioned and we're trying to give them another big scoring threat to overcome them. Hill I like along with some smaller moves in the buyout market. We will see.

I don’t know that they see major flaws so much as they were just looking to give themselves the best chance possible. The Nets didn’t necessarily see major flaws leading to trading for Harden, they just saw a chance to make their team even better. Even a team who may be the favorite to win is going to explore all possibilities of making their team even better.

I was just reading we have 3.9M of our mid-level exception left, which can help for buyout players since often they get vet min deals to finish the season.

Here is what other teams have to offer on their exceptions

The nets also have their disabled player exception

I dont know why it stuck in those emojis when I copy and pasted and they werent there..

Whats the deal with Jabari Parker playing only 3 games? Injured? He might be an option for stretch 4. He and Olynyk/Deing?

The Toronto Raptors believed they were "very close" to a trade agreement with the Philadelphia 76ers involving Kyle Lowry, a source with knowledge of the talks told Sam Amick of The Athletic.

The 76ers and Raptors had the final hurdle of draft compensation before reaching a deal.

Danny Green, who would have been traded by the 76ers, was set to be moved to a third team. Philadelphia pivoted to a deal with the Oklahoma City Thunder for George Hill.

The Miami Heat were reluctant to include Tyler Herro, while the Los Angeles Lakers felt similarly about Talen Horton-Tucker.

Im guessing George Hill is taking all of Maxey's playing time. Hes the guy who has been in the doghouse over defense.

Quote from Morey

"Defensively was hugely important. We feel like if we're gonna win that title, we have to be the best defense in the league," Morey said Thursday night. "And right now, I think we're number two, I believe we're going to finish the season number one. We felt like George solidified that. Teams often will attack your weakest defender on the floor, and we had quite a few lineups where there was an option for the other team to attack. So I would say probably, in terms of relative to our team, defense was probably [selling point] one."

I mean fair enough.

George Hill had surgery for mallet finger in January. Thats typically around 8 weeks recovery. So he should be very close to returning.
