Did you know that burgers pair surprisingly well with cheap red wine? This $11 Côtes du Rhône red blend offers an excellent accompaniment to this 1/3 lb. bacon cheeseburger topped with sautéed onions, smoked cheddar, and sweet BBQ sauce.

Nice combo of flavours.  I do like smoked cheeses with my preference being Gouda.  Throw some grilled/sauteed mushrooms or peppers on that and it'd be even more killer, though I know not everyone likes mushrooms.

Cotes du Rhones are good value wines.  Most are in the $8-$15 range.  Other good value reds are Spanish, Portuguese and South American.

Beyond ridiculous to not take porter at 10. He was the only player there with star type of potential. Even with the back. The risk was worth the reward with how much upside he had.
