Ben actually blamed the altitude for the teams performance last night.

Still wondering if a buyout happens here

Quote

J.J. Redick spoke on his podcast about his displeasure with the New Orleans Pelicans for trading him to the Dallas Mavericks.

Holiday revealed he asked for a trade before the start of the season and that David Griffin promised to oblige him if the situation didn't work out during the season.

"Obviously, he did not honor his word," said Redick of Griffin.

"I don't think you're going to get honesty from that front office, objectively speaking," added Redick. "That's not an opinion, I just don't think you're gonna get that. I don't think what happened with me is necessarily an isolated incident. I think front offices around the league operate in their best interest. I get that. I understand that. Truthfully... I think I was a little naive thinking I was in Year 15 and I attempted to do things right throughout my career.

"But in terms of this front office, yeah, it's not something where I would expect certainly the agents who worked on this with me to ever trust that front office again."

Redick was "jarred" by the trade to the Mavericks as they weren't one of the teams discussed with him. Redick has no set timetable for reporting to the Mavericks.

He is injured, but I wonder if hes just never going to be "healthy" until his contract expires, or he is bought out.

He is literally the same exact player he was as a rookie.

Better defensively, but other than that, I agree. Its kind of astounding how little he has progressed offensively. Brandon Ingram is looking better and better...

Obviously there are things he does on defense that don't go into the stats column but, as far as blocks and steals go those numbers are the same as well or worse . The reason he is so he'll bent on being great on defense is to hide the insecurities he has on offense or unwillingness to put the effort into the offensive side

I read this wrong at first as "attitude"... the irony of Ben blaming attitude was killing me. Altitude might even be worse 🙄

Bingo, could not have worded it better. He is so concerned with his image, that his fragile psyche cant take it if he were to "fail". Bro, we know you can hit jump shots, at least in practice... Steph friggin curry doesn't hit every shot, its okay to be imperfect. Mistakes drive growth, he needs to get outside of his own head and just play ball. The stakes are not as high in the regular season, I would rather see him develop offensively and have a bad game, than see him play it safe and put up his vanilla numbers. Ben needs to read some Brene Brown, in a bad way.

It's just insane to me that a player with his skill set is so afraid of missing shots or whatever the hell he thinks.

I think one day he will wake up when it's to late. When teams don't want to pay top dollar for him anymore and doesn't get invited to all star games he doesn't deserve it might turn a light on for him. Then again maybe he just doesn't give rats ass

He stepped into a meaningless 3 the other week after the game was already decided and knocked it down.

That would drive me Fing crazy if was Joel

I'd still try to do Ben and the farm for Beal.

That’s what is annoying. It’s not that he CANT hit them here and here, he just refuses to even shoot. He’s 3 for 9 this season, and I know at least a couple of those were just long heaves at the buzzer.

So on legitimate attempts, he’s shooting probably close to 40%. I know it’s a limited sample and I wouldn’t expect him to to keep that rate, but it just shows that he’s not completely incapable of making those shots. If he actually put in the effort he could at least probably be a 33% guy. Not good, but enough that defenses have to actually think about him shooting.

Save your keystrokes.  Ben isn't going to be shooting anytime soon.

They hope get O-game window or more to get him acclimated to the team before the playoffs. I wish Doc and Darryl wouldnt have waited so long to make necessary moves a move.

10 games to get him acclimated. That means he might still miss 16 games. Jesus...

And Im tired of every year the last few years hearing the excuse that this team hasnt played together at all before playoffs began.

If Mike Scott didn’t exist, I’d say Simmons is the worst player on the court tonight.

Saw a comment that describes Ben Simmons' game, "Best cornerback in basketball."

5 and 5 from your "all star pg." He's a joke.

People on here were saying he was too good to trade a month ago. Happens every freaking February/March. They fall for the same crap.

Mike Scott Is pure garbage. That’s all I got.

How that guy ever got popular in this town is beyond me.

For the record, I still think that once Embiid is back, he and the rest of this team is good enough to make a run to the finals... but, unless he has a great playoffs and they take the whole thing, Simmons needs to be gone in the offseason. Absolutely unacceptable for his garbage play recently. For what he’s being paid, he needs to be able to step up when Jo is out.

He will be ok once he gets out of that Denver altitude.

Only took trading for Hill to put Shake off ball more. Shake was never was a natural ball handler nor distributor, but they tried to force it and keep Maxey on the bench.

Feel like they wasted 48 games trying to put a round peg thru a square hole and 48 games of Maxey not getting minutes as the backup lead guard.
