This Simmons Family drama is a mess.  You wonder if this hasn't been bubbling behind the scenes for a few weeks or so an Ben has had some focus on settling this for his brother/agent behind the scenes.  She even admits that the family didn't want it to damage his brother's brand.

Mental stress can be just as draining as physical activity and could be part of the post All Star game slump we've seen.  I was just saying the other day that I wish George Hill could play and give Ben a couple games off because he looks exhausted.

That would be my guess.

But who's been bought out?

Stop making excuses for him just sucking offensively. He's done this for the last few years.

Exactly. Every year he plays hard/well for 3 weeks prior to all star selection and then he completely drops off.

I wonder if Gary Clark is the target with out buyout spot available. Hes a swing forward. But not really  a good 3 pt shooter.

He  got waived by the Nuggets and is expected to sign with an eastern playoff team

Tomorrow is the deadline for a buyout player to sign with a new team and be eligible to play in the playoffs. It seems like thats the only new option on the market that would be a catalyst to make the move to waive Iggy.

That might make sense if he didn’t pull the same disappearing act EVERY year.

Rivers is still a FA

JD Shaw: The Orlando Magic have officially waived center Khem Birch, per release.

Really good back up

Interesting.

Though stretch 4 is the need,  with none available at this deadline he might be a smart move,  also considering George hill's mysteriously lingering injury...

The Sixers must have used the Eagle's medical team to evaluate his injury prior to the trade.

Ben Simmons 4 Rui Hachimura, Davis Bertans and 6th Overall Pick, who says no?

Non-surgical management for his injury is 8 weeks in a splint. Somehow he got surgery and its taking longer than that. Surgery should have sped up the process or else he should have just gone the non-surgical route.

so while reporters continue to report no timeline, this is the 2nd time I have actually seen this timeline which is written in the linked article

When that will be is still a matter of some doubt, even after speaking with Hill. Rivers has set a consistent target of "at least 10 games" with Hill before the playoffs begin, which would require Hill to be back by their April 30th game against the Atlanta Hawks.

And this quote from earlier in the article makes it sound like it may be sooner than that

Just getting everything going. Once you shut your body down for three months or so, not just your finger, you have to make sure the whole care is up to date. Your Achilles, your ankles, your legs and things like that. So just getting back into shape, getting back into the rhythm and the groove of just basketball period, but I think coming in the last couple of days to now, the progress has been tremendous...it's going to be sooner than expected.

He joined the 6ers when they arrived back from the long road trip and supposedly the plan was that he would be raping up his activity in practice. It sounds like the holdup is making sure his conditioning is right. While Doc has said he wants him for at least 10 games, it sounds like his conditioning is coming along quickly and may be ready sooner.

i heard birch is expected to sign w/ toronto.

The way he has been playing, I am ok with Howard as the back up big for the playoffs.  Especially when Hill is back and you don't have to have Howard and Ben on the court together.

What? I guess players do this because they want more minutes and thus a bigger contract.

Never worked out for Wayne Ellington

more minutes is what i read yesterday.

So down to

Rivers, Gerald Green, Troy Daniels, Justin Patton

Missed on

Jeff Teague, Isaiah Thomas, Ben McLemore, Dewayne Dedmon, Gorgui Dieng, Blake Griffin.

Rivers can help with bench scoring and more versatility, but F did they mess this and the trade deadline up. Need someone better than Mike Scott

That is particularly big.  Simmons and Howard are an awful fit together.  That's why Ben's game went to crap when Embiid went down.  Ben has to absolutely play with a C who can space the floor.  That's not to excuse Simmons flaws, but you can live with his flaws when there's a C who can space the floor with him.

But is on Doc to Fing adjust and he just won't.

Try Scott at the 5 or Harris or something other than same crap.

Sixers fans should be nervous come playoff time because Doc just doesn't adjust
