We have done well against Boston this year.  But now we have no Simmons.

Offense has been nice without him.  But im not sure we can defend Boston.

Im excited to see how it looks tonight hoping Boston isn't ready for our new offense. But I also feel like we probably get swept.

I agree.  Shake is not a defensive downgrade in any way from Reddick.  I still think they will exploit him in PnR.  He just doesn't have the athleticism to stay in front of good guards.  Stevens has always coached circles around BB and he will find the weakness and exploit it continuously and BB is usually slow to adjust.  Heck he never figured out how to keep JJ from being exposed every Celtics offensive possession.

as much as we dislike some of the pieces around ben & jo....they really did try to build the team to beat teams like boston & milwaukee in the playoffs. brought in switchable wings to help defend boston (while getting rid of redick) ...and brought in horford who had some success defending giannis during last year's playoffs.

and better depth overall. ennis & scott were playing 20 mpg in the playoffs last year. the rest of the bench bums were under 10 mpg & for good reason.

1st Round:

#21 Overall (via OKC)

2nd Round:

#34 Overall (via ATL)

#36 Overall (via NYK)

#49 Overall (via PHI)

#58 Overall (via LAL)

in nba2k, i'd trade all of those picks to move up to the early teens.

Remember when Donovan Mitchell lost ROY to Ben Simmons a couple years ago?  It's laughable to type that sentence 2 years later.  Mitchell is exactly the type of player the Sixers need.   He just took over the 4th quarter of that game like I haven't seen in Philly since Iverson.  Defense sucks though.

Yeah. And I didnt even want Simmons to win ROY that year because it was clear it would be detrimental to hsi psyche. I wish Mitchell won it. I wish Simmons got 0 accolades ever so he had that motivation to keep working for them.

At the time I didn't think it was possible for a professional athlete to be as mentally fragile as him, but that nightmare has turned into a reality.  And then Markelle Fultz happened too.  WTF!

Ugh this again... Giannis struggled the first game of that series but, for the most part he ate Horford alive offensively and defensively

For that series Giannis averaged 28.4 pts 5.2 assist 11 RBS 1.6 blks and 1.4 steals and shot 52%

He sucked that first game but after that he lit their arses up.

yeah...giannis is good.

horford will be a big body to put on him...nobody is shutting him down.

Perfect Scenario:

1.  We beat Boston (always fun to beat them because F Boston and gives us 10 days of entertainment).

2.  Lose terribly in round 2 (which probably would have happened with Ben also) and Brown gets fired.

3.  Trade Simmons for another young guard or combo of people.

4.  Hit on our first round pick and the other 24th 1st round pick.

True but, now Giannis is even better from the outside. Unlike Simmons Giannis actually keeps improving so last year Horford could help a bit, not this year with Giannis expanding his game

greg monroe was backing up jojo during last year's playoffs.    having horford should help some.

we only have 21st pick from OKC. We dont own our 1st this year.

I dont remember which one it went in. But thats why it was such a big deal to follow OKC. We needed that pick.

It’s not enough to have social messages shoved all in your face for 3 hours.  But now I have to listen to Doris f-ing Burke?!?!?   Kill me.
