They’ll still beat the Knicks or Hawks as long as Embiid is good to go. I’m hoping he was just pulled as a precaution since they were up 3-0.

They can beat anyone when Embiid is healthy and wearing his Superman cape with Simmons allowed to fade into the shadows on offense while occasionally driving through the paint.

And they can lose to anyone with a banged up Embiid playing low minutes and Simmons in choke mode.

The optimist in me says they pulled Embiid for precautionary reasons knowing they were up 3-0, and that he'll be fine.  The pessimist tells me he tore his ACL, MCL, PCL and ruptured his patellar tendon and he's out for 2 years.

Morey put out that cryptic tweet late last night that made it seem like Embiid would be OK. We’ll see. Just want to hear the MRI turns up negative.

That’s exactly what I thought. Say it was game 7 or a finals game maybe he stays in.

I really think he was just pulled because of the situation. Up 3-0 in the series, just sit him out the rest of the game to be cautious. When he fell he was grabbing his lower back area, where he landed, so I doubt that he seriously hurt his knee.

Oh...and yes, regarding basketball:

1. Embiid was definitely fouled on that drive and that f'er mongoloid was trying to be cute all game putting his body all over him.  I truly wish bad things upon the Lopez parents putting those ugly bastids on the planet!

2. On Ben's drive, that should have been a Flagrant 1

3.  The refs absolutely were trying to hand this game to the Wizards

4.  Doc sucked last night....no way you take out Hill, Maxey and Korkmaz after they bring you back

5.  If Embiid is done, so are we......

6.  If Embiid is done for a game, you start Reed......also, I have zero clue or understanding how someone with Howard's skill, size, years in the league looks like a freaking epileptic around the basket

7.  Ben might literally have played himself off the court......if Washington and other teams literally just start fouling him every possession, we can lose games 120 to 30

Doc pulled a Brett Brown at the end of the Celtics game a few years back pulling TJ to put Ben back in the game.

Yeah, until Ben can start hitting free throws he’s unplayable in the final 5ish minutes of the game. I believe if Doc had stuck with Maxey and Hill they’d have won that game.

Doc won't sit his " all star" for Maxey. No chance in hell. That's exactly how he effed up the clippers last year. Playing the veteran who could clearly not get the job done over the younger guy who could.

Maxey has a lot to improve, but he looked like he was gaining confidence and he wasn't scared of the moment. Love that he took that last 3 even if it didn't go in. But yeah, we agree about Doc.

Dude loves to blow 3 1 leads

It doesn't make any sense to just sit embiid and lose that game last night.  Win that game and they all get more rest.

He clearly landed awkwardly on the knee.  Hopefully the MRI is good.

He played a few more minutes after the injury right?  I can't remember.

Yes. He finished the quarter out.

It also didn’t make any sense to pull Maxey down the stretch, or to put/keep Simmons in the game just to keep missing free throws.

you don't bench your all-star during crunch time. it sucks that ben misses free throws but he's not getting benched in a situation like that...ever.

Aim for the front of the rim.  That's my advice.

We will see when we are in the ECF and its game 3 or 4 in a tight series.  If they hack a Ben and he is missing his FT, he damn well better get pulled.  His ego is not more important than a championship.  He has plenty of off days to shoot 500 free throws and work on that terrible form.  Bend your damn knees and follow through.  But why would he do that when he can play call of duty?

If he’s actively hurting your chances to win, then yes you absolutely bench him.

I agree with what you are saying however you could’ve had maxey or hill on the floor along with Ben playing the center. Could’ve went with a lineup of maxey/hill, curry, green, Harris and Simmons. As well as korkmaz played, the last 2.5 minutes of that game the wizards found ways to iso both kork and curry. We had guys try to help them and when they did the wizards found the open guy for an easy basket or good look. Can’t have both curry and korkmaz out there in crunch time cause the wizards will find a way to get beal westbrook covered by one and then it sends your defense scrambling

Am I over simplifying this with the thought that Doc can just come up with a lineup that replaces Ben with Hill for about 90 seconds from a range of approximately 3:30 left in the 4th Q to the 2:00 mark?

What’s funny about this is i made the argument in game one with 5 seconds left in the 3rd after they called a foul on thybulle to get hill into the game for Simmons. Set up a play where hill is the distributor and if it doesn’t work you at least have a three attempt by a good three point shooter. The wizards wanted Simmons with the ball in his hands and nowhere to distribute so he’d take a desperation shot and he wasn’t a shooter. Last night the wizards wanted Simmons shooting ft before the 2 minute rule came into play cause the sixers had the momentum and his inability to go better than 1-2 every time allowed for momentum to switch back.

George hill playing only 24 minutes last night when he was as good as we’ve seen him in a sixers uniform is criminal. He should’ve been in the 30s with how he was playing. And maxey should’ve been closer to 26-27 minutes not 21. There were minutes to give them. We didn’t have to play useless Mike scott 16. they believe the 6’7 Mike scott can play center when he can’t even play his normal position. Furthermore if you really want to use someone out of position at center cause Howard was bad and embiid was out then go with Harris. Harris is 6’8.5 compared to Scott’s 6’7 so you get at least better height. Add on he’s a better rebounder than scott. And on the offensive end the center would have to come out and guard Harris and Harris can take him off the dribble. Scott can’t do anything. Besides brick threes and not handle the ball well

When the f are we going to get word on Embiid????

Probably not til late today. Apparently the sixers plane had troubles and they had to bus back to Philly and didn’t get in to Philly til 6 am.

[Kyle Neubeck] Still no update on Embiid from the Sixers, who just announced there will be no media availability today. Not surprising, necessarily, but possibility exists that this will drag out for a bit.
